If given the choice do we take Gould or Worrell? Who has more upside? Who is more consistent?

If given the choice do we take Bianco or Rantell or Schoenberg? (Clearly Robertson is the idealpick for a MF) but which of these two do we take?

Rivers of Sharp?

Want Taylor.

I would be happy with 3 of these names for our picks.

Gould over Worrel. Far more consistent, natural footballer. Worrel probably has more upside because his height and athletic capabilities but Gould to me has the competitiveness and leadership to replace Thompson.

Bianco then Rantall then Schoenberg. Bianco is classy but his height is a concern. Rantall is a freak athlete and knows how to find the footy, has concerns with his kicking. Schoenberg good all rounder no real kinks in his game but had some inconsistent form at SANFL level last year.

Rivers over Sharp every day of the week. Rivers is just as skilful, has more of a harder edge to his game and is more midfield capable. Sharp is the better athlete and has a more lethal kick, little bit on the soft side though.

This split across two days business is absolute corporate/media nonsense.
The AFL is mistaken if they honestly believe people give a ****.

It’s beyond a joke now

The reason the draft is so big in the states is the college kids are already bona fide superstars. No one has heard of the under 18s players, other than family, friends, recruiters and a handful of footy tragics.
But some numpty here started a thread and insisted they were "household names".

The reason for the multiple days is the sheer number of picks.

We don’t need a break after 20 picks and 70 in total.
If they cut out all the bullshit they'd get through it easily in one night. Brief interviews with the top 10 draftees only.

It's only a rort if you're not in on it - and , yep, where not in on it. To see teams like GWS and Fremantle cream the first rounders is galling enough - but the Dees. They were Preliminary finalists barely 12 months ago. Our next 3 picks need to be on players that have at least some elite traits - Sharp comes to mind with his speed and endurance as does Jones with his speed and his height is an added bonus. I hope we steer clear of the nice, safe but not that quick types. Bianco and Robertson come to mind. I like Gould but I reckon the Crows might snaffle him. They've been slaughtered by the go home factor. He looks like a cult hero in the making.

Robertson is gonna make a lot of recruiters look silly in a few years. Looks so much like prime Rory Sloane in his footage, great speed and acceleration but still tough at the contest with terrific hands.

I'd be pushing #29 + #32 to port for #22 + 2020 3rd, because there's no way he should get past the lions.

If we can walk away with Robertson + Gould + O'Neill at #47 and Walker as DFA we would be huge winners.

Dont think Port will want to push back that far as they will be worried of a bid coming for Mead and wiping out those picks. They traded out what was then 29 in a pick swap to avoid just this scenario.

Robertson is a legitimate top 5 player in this draft for me. Absolutely shattered that he's fallen so close to our pick with no chance he actually gets there

Genuine top 5? Come on mate! The top 5 isnt like it was 10 years ago, its thorough, the amount of detail, stats and reviews on these guys is comprehensive..

He's a known commodity - you know what you're getting with him. Apart from Rowell, Anderson and Green he's the next most likely to make it at the top level based on exposed form.

Recruiters love potential which is why guys like Robertson and Gould slide while Kysiah Pickett and Will Day go 10 picks before

Before the first round I would have 100% agreed with you, but I feel the likelihood of Mead getting bid on after 32 is growing.

Port may want to take a punt at the possibility of getting 4x players in the top 32 as well as Mead. Bit of a risk but could potentially work out really well for them.

Mead will likely get bid on after 32 if Port dont hold any picks close to that selection. However if they own 29 or 32 teams will force them to spend it as it then becomes in their interest to do so.
