How many times do I need to tell these Carlton echo chamber inbreds that he wasn’t dropped he was returning after missing a game with a knock to the knee. They keep repeating this stuff.
Knock to the knee
Knock to the knee

Suns or BRM please move this twat on

Sorry, why the name calling? Trying to have a discussion?

It's quite hilarious when fans think players "want" to come to their Club
Did Branden Ellis "want" to come here?
Greenwood?
Brad Crouch?
Jarryd Lyons?
Nah- their managers identified the Club with the greatest need, the biggest salary cap hole and the ability to offer the best deal to their player
I doubt Jack wants to play at Carlton- I mean he's not simple- by all accounts he wants to be in Melbourne for personal reasons
His manager identified Carlton as the destination with the best deal
Same as St Kilda
At the end of the day everyone can't play for Richmond Collingwood Hawthorn and Essendon

Are you suggesting Jack Martin has somehow been kept in the dark and he didn't know walking him to the PSD was an option should the clubs not agree a deal?

Do you think they told him that? I would think as soon as they told his manager that they would have been on the phone to every club in Melbourne to secure a proper deal.

The Blues have burnt him to the ground and abused his trust

Much like the Germans people don't forget these things.

You are not. You are trying to convince yourself that everything is okay and using our validation as that medium.

You are a cretin. Be gone.

Because you are being condescending, rude, making false statements, stating conjecture as fact, which when added together means you have come here as a guest and been a right royal blue blooded twat.

You mean the clubs in Melbourne that matter.

SOS to Martin: Don't worry if Suns don't accept our future 2nd and 3rd pick we will draft you in PSD. Hopefully, Suns or Melbourne will not draft you first.
Martin's reply: That's a fantastic plan, I am thrilled. Glad you still value me these picks after my form slump.

I'm still unclear as to weather Martin can name his own price. According to Maher and and Goddard on the Suns website he can and they think he's unlikely to be at the Suns. Barrett and Wallace said the same thing on the AFL website that he can name his price that Carlton was offering and Melbourne and GC won't draft him because of that. Cameron and SOS didn't mention this though.

I promise you his manager would have been all over them like a rash
It would have come down to Carlton , maybe StKilda I reckon
The other hilarious thing is the average BigFooty fan's insider knowledge of salary cap room
Bold statements like
"We've been building up a salary cap warchest!"
No-one other than the CEO, the list manager and a few deep insiders on the Coaching staff would have any idea about what players are being paid

Entirely plausible
But we still have the opportunity to retain him and Carlton will have to offer him significant overs to ensure he slides

This I can agree on.

At the end of the day what they offered was useless to a Club like ours with more picks than we can really use
Our biggest issue will be culling players to bring in players
Carlton may pick him upon the PSD if they're offering stupid money (someone said 800k but only worth a future 2nd and 3rd??:drunk:) but at least other Clubs will know they'll need to have their ducks in a row for trade period if they want to pick our talent- or take a chance on the drafts
Can't criticise the decision at all

Carlton won't like this. They have to pay Martin through proper channels. Let's just say Carlton got themselves into the mess they are today because they loved handing out the brown paper bags.

Hell SOS himself loved a bit of the brown paper bag action back in the day.

Id appreciate you not calling me a flog. Im just trying to have a simple discussion.

No....you're not trying to have a simple discussion at all.......you come onto our board to tell us where we went wrong.......because you're a Carlton member and you know best......my suggestion is for you to p*ss off and go post on your own board because you sure as h*ll ain't welcome here with your biased views on what is and what isn't a "simple discussion"

True
The Clubs are notoriously secretive on what they're paying
To have to commit publicly to a number will create headaches

Entirely plausible

I'm happy we made a stand something we should've done with O'Meara back in the day and if Martin came back and played i'd be fine with that but i think we made salary cap decisions with the idea Martin wouldn't be with us. Carlton already have the room for him so if he has a price on his head as those have said then he'll get there.

You were never getting pick 9, nor a future first for Martin. I mentioned that here weeks ago. No way was SOS ever going to pay a first round pick for an OOC player. That said, I kind of like that the Suns weren't bending over in this trade period like previous years.
That's why the almighty SOS got FA..!
