Melbourne will consider trying to enter the frame for Martin and beat the Blues to the punch for the exciting ballwinner with pick No. 2 in the pre-season draft.

But Martin on Thursday remained intent on joining the Blues and could refuse to meet with any other clubs in the lead-up to the pre-season draft, effectively putting him off-limits to rivals.

Martin won’t return to the Suns, even if the club considered taking him back with the No. 1 pick in the pre-season draft.

REAL professional...

I’m curious how he refuses to return to suns or demons pick him up if he enters the draft

GAF what he wants. If you get him in the PSD it's a free hit. At the very worse he doesn't show up, doesn't get paid and you put him on the trade block and turn a free hit into a future 2nd and 3rd next year.

In Mexico they call it a stand off
Obviously Jacky boy hasn't the slightest interest in us getting a decent pick for him, so I'm not sure we should be holding out any olive branches

For the Suns all he could do (i imagine) is make it well known that if they draft him he's retiring.
For Melbourne, he could refuse to do interviews/medicals etc that any properly run club would require before drafting him (wouldnt apply to suns as they have years of history on him obviously)

Someone from a third rate school like Trinity wouldn't know class if it hit them in the head so because you're likely a child I will spell it out again as done by our list manager
"Trades need to improve our list"
Jack Martin out, pick 30 and 50 in does not do that
Back to class please

How would you rate someone who went to
Cronulla High School And then Tweed River High School?

Thanks for Jack Martin for free guys! lol.

You could have taken the 2nd and 3rd round pick and packaged them up with some other picks for a 1st rounder.....

When in public and you laugh at your own joke and nobody else is laughing do you realise how much of a w***er you look like???

Firstly I didn't go to Trinity, Trini refers to someone from Trinidad. Secondly the only way a list is improved is trading/attracting and developing players which your club hasn't done well.

Did a Carlton supporter with all their wooden spoons and number 1 draft picks just say we aren’t good at developing players??
Did that really just happen.

No one would swap future second and third round picks in a heavily comprised draft for a first round pick #nuffie

That is fine, you guys didn't want to be short change and we didn't want to overpay.

2 Clubs have different value on Jack which is fine, each club is entitle to that opinion.

I am enjoying the Blues acting like the paragons of virtue in all this.

How?

Anyways thought the re-signing of Ben King was the best thing to come out of the trade period. Games into him along with Peter Wright the forward line looks solid for the next few years.

Isn’t this article flat out saying that Carlton are acting illegally and tampering with the draft?
If so how about fines, taking away of draft picks and competition points then.

Grow a pair Gil.

Kregize was not specifically referring to you most likely

Finally a blues supporter who has posted a sensible comment rather than being critical of the suns decision on Martin!!! No that’s not sarcasm. You’re not wrong Kings resigning was definitely the highlight for the Suns and will be a shining line in the forward line with 2MP if he pulls his socks up after an off year. The other highlight was Craig Cameron’s hard line stance with opposition clubs of picks and trades. He has turned us from the trade period laughing stock to a respectable trade partner again.

Cochrane is the man
“We wanted to send a strong message that we are not the club we were. We have changed and in line with that we have made a strong and bold statement,” Cochrane said.

“We will absolutely look at re-drafting him if it comes to that. One of the core reasons we didn’t trade him was we still want him here.”

Look at the other option turned down by SOS.
Gold Coast also suggested swapping pick nine this year for the Suns' compensation pick in next year’s draft at pick 11 for Martin.

A bit of perspective please...
Carlton should stop acting like they're the cats that have got the cream.
As it stands, you don’t have Martin so stop pretending he’s in your pocket, because Australia knows that he’s not.
He’s actually hanging, upside down by his feet, in the shop window and currently you’re 4th shopper in the line.
Regardless of what we rate him or you rate him, he’s a free hit to anyone in the line if they have the salary to pay him. Now, negotiations can take place between the shoppers, some behind closed doors and some in the line.
Time will tell, but for now. Tell your cronies to stop bothering everyone in front of you in the line.
