Not sure if I’m improving my team or making it worse by going more mid price over the rookies, especially down back

Back: Lloyd, Newman, smith, Williams, clark, scrimshaw (Hore, Burgess)

Mid: macrae, Brayshaw, Merrett, rocky, b crouch, Libba, Walsh, Scott (gibbons, Constable)

Ruck: Grundy, Goldstein (Cameron, fort)

Fwd: danger, boak, kelly, Worpel, Setterfield, drew (balta, Parker)

Reasonably happy with the line up, for today anyway

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, Smith, Williams, Duursma, Scimshaw (Hore, Watson)

MID: Macrae, Congs, Crippa, Brayshaw, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable (Gibbons, Hind)

RUCK: Grundy, Goldy (Fort, Cameron)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Worpel, Setters, Drew, M.Parker ( Burgess, Balta)

Thoughts guys?

In light of the very poor Rookie likelihood I cannabalised two premiums (Cripps and Smith to Sheed and Heeney) to pay up for rookies and mid pricers.

Is this team complete madness???

Def: Lloyd, Witherden, Smith, Williams, Clark, Duursma (2*170k)

Mid: Macrae, Brayshaw, M.Crouch, Sheed, B. Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Butters (2*170k)

Ruc: Grundy, Goldy

Fwd: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Setterfield, Rozee, Drew (2*170k)

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, Smith, Williams, Duursma, Scimshaw (Hore, Watson)

MID: Macrae, Congs, Crippa, Brayshaw, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable (Gibbons, Hind)

RUCK: Grundy, Goldy (Fort, Cameron)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Worpel, Setters, Drew, M.Parker ( Burgess, Balta)

Thoughts guys?

Really like your midfield. It is incredibly strong!

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Newman, Z.Williams, J.Clark, Duursma / watson, Hore

MID: Cogs, Cripps, Brayshaw, Rocky, Brouch, Libba, Walsh, atkins / Gibbons, B.Scott

RUC: Grundy, Witts / Fort, Xerri

FWD: Danger, Boak, Darling, Setterfield, Burgess, Drew / Petruccelle, Balta

Pretty Happy with this bad boy heading into the final two days of JLT. Need some other eyes to check over it to make sure im not being bias with my crowies! 11k remaining.
Nice team. I've not seen many (any?) posted here with Laird and Lloyd so if they fire early you'll be doing very well. Looks a strong team overall though M.Parker is the weakness for mine. Handy bench player but reliable enough for your starting 22?
Came up with this build which is as close to guns and rookies I can get with premium rookies.

Thoughts?
I feel like that is a team with a very high scoring potential. If your premos fire you'll be doing very well!

Last change for the night, mid pricers left right and center

DEF: Lloyd, Newman, Smith, Williams, Duursma, Scimshaw (Hore, Burgess)

MID: Macrae, Crippa, Merrett, Sheed, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable (Gibbons, Scott)

RUCK: Grundy, Goldy (Fort, Cameron)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Worpel, Setters, Drew ( Petruccelle, Parker)

Ok here goes the current setup. I already know what you won’t like:

DEF: Lloyd Witherden Newman Burton B Smith Zac Will

MID: Crip Brayshaw MCrouch Rocky BCrouch Miles Walsh Atkins

R: Grundy Nankervis

FWD: Danger Worpel Elliott McCarthy Setterfield Drew

Bench: Whatever

I know you will say forwards are weak. Comparatively, yes, they are. But I think my depth elsewhere makes up for it and I know what I can expect from them, reasonably.

I had Rocky in for a while before that big game, then went “can’t trust Hink” mode again and took him out. But I agreed with a post I saw that said Hink has to change things up or he is toast. So now I am deciding to hope he does exactly that. Any thoughts?

With TayTay out, I'm now on:

D: Lloyd, Witherden, Sicily, Williams, Brodie Smith, Williamson (Clark, Burgess)
M: Brayshaw, Merrett, Neale, Martin, Brouch, Miles, Walsh, Bailey Smith (Gibbons, Bewley)
R: Grundy, Jacobs (Fort, Xerri)
F: Dangerfield, Heeney, Rozee, Setterfield, Parker, Cavarra (Corbett, Drew)

Now

D: Lloyd, Witherden, Sicily, Williams, Brodie Smith, Duursma (Watson, Hore)
M: Brayshaw, Treloar, Taranto, Brouch, Liberatore, Cousins, Walsh, Bailey Smith (Constable, Gibbons)
R: Grundy, Gawn (Fort, Xerri)
F: Dangerfield, Heeney, Walters, Setterfield, Drew, Burgess (Owies, Parker)

Defence - essentially the same
Midfield - buying into JLT hype - fingers crossed
Rucks - improved
Forwards - improved

So hopefully I've ended up getting some value in the mids to improve RUC and FWD lines.

B: Lloyd, Newman, B Smith, Williams, Duursma, Scrimshaw - Rookie, Rookie
M: Coniglio, Brayshaw, Beams, Rocky, Sheed, B Crouch, Liberatore, Walsh - Rookie, Rookie
R: Grundy, Goldstein - Rookie, Rookie
F: Danger, Boak, T Kelly, Setterfield, Parker, Drew - Rookie, Rookie.

I'll probably change it again in a few minutes...….

Looking at how my team would have scored if their best JLT score was taken by each player to get some idea what i can hopefully be looking towards for the early rnds. (ignoring bench players)

Lloyd 99, Newman 97, B Smith 99, Williams 80, clarke 78, Duursma 92

Macrae 131 (262), Brayshaw 150, Steele 107, Rockliff 178, B Crouch 114, Libba 101, Walsh 100, Scott 84

Grundy 101, Goldstein 100

Danger 105, Boak 112, Kelly 108, Worpel 92, Setterfield 95, Drew 81

Total - 2435

Obviously not going to score that well come round one but gives me a bit more relief thinking they can all score something decent to start the year

Now to see how long i can go without changing the whole lineup before rnd 1

My inexpert comments:

I like your defence, although it’s risky with so many rookies. I haven’t checked % ownership figures, but Sicily seems to be a more unique premium defender.

Your mids and rucks are strong, although personally I’m not convinced on Dusty. I think he had one breakout season (from a fantasy perspective - he’s still a great player) but not sure he will be in top 8 scoring mids at year end.

Your forward line is very risky. Without checking scores, traditionally young KPF’s score terribly. And Blakey is no guarantee of a game at the Swans according to the AFL website today...

But we all have these battles at the minute....

Too many midpricers? Not enough rooks? Too much Power?

$0 in bank.

Roll the dice with Higgins instead of Worpel? Also like Milera and/or Mills for more MPM in the backline. 2019 Pre Season 4.jpg

Cheers mate. Will invest another few hrs to tweaking

Premos have delivered in JLT,
If I cast my mind back, am I correct in recalling that only 2 players posted back-2-back 100's last JLT?
Neale & someone else.

We tend to use JLT to find rookies so it may not be great for us.

G'day. First post. Any input is appreciated.

Def: Lloyd, Witherden, Smith, Williams, Clark, Scrimshaw (Nutting, Hore)

Mid: Macrae, Coniglio, Cripps, Brayshaw, Brouch, Walsh, LDU, Constable (Gibbons, Hind)

Ruck: Grundy, English (Cameron, Fort)

Fwd: Danger, Heeney, Boak, Worpel, Setterfield, Drew (Burgess, Xerri)

All 170k bench subject to change, especially ruck/fwd. Main concerns are boak (swapped between him and kelly multiple times) and roookies such as LDU and Clark. Cheers

Welcome.
I'd be more concerned with English than Boak, LDU & Clark.

As a port fan, you gotta have Duursma (might even have slightly better job security than Clark but in my opinion, Clark's going to make himself hard to leave out for the Geelong selectors, they just have a log jam for last few best 22 spots so Duursma might be the go)

English got 54 from a half yesterday, and improved as the game went on. If we go in with a sole ruck and he is it - I am considering this option....
