Adding further to the Giants second half fadeouts, I had a look at our second halves.

Since the bye, 11games, 11 wins, and only once r19 against the Pies we lost a second half (by 5 points) also drew against the Blues in r21.

Compared to the Giants
12 post bye games for 7 wins and 5 losses, and only 4 second half wins (pies, suns, dogs, pies) with 1 draw (lions) and 7 losses ( bombers, tiges, power, swans, hawks, dogs, lions)
1 second half win (pies PF) they lost the last quarter, the r18 Pies win they won the half but lost the 3rd, and the draw against the lions they lost the 3rd qtr.

The Giants close Wins,
Power by 1pt. Lost the last half by 5pts. the 4th by 9 pts.
Swans by 2pts. Lost the last half by 11pts. 3rd by 8pts, 4th by 3pts
Lions SF by 3pts. Lost the last half by 9pts. 3rd by 5pts, 4th by 4pts
Pies PF, by 4pts. won the last half by 9pts. Lost the 4th by 22pts.

With that massive damp slugfest against the Pies v our easy dry game against the Lions (won second half by 36pts) they would need to be a minimum 5 goals up at half time to be in the game by the end.
We also beat the Cats in the PF second half by 40pts

Another useless bit of info, in the Blues r21 game that was the only time Pickett has played on the G, in the ressies curtain raiser.

A conversation took place with a prominent Geelong player during the week,
anyway he mentioned that the second half of the Preliminary final was the most
pressure that have ever experienced from a football side ever.
They felt suffocated and couldn't keep up.
These were the words that came from his mouth.
