No chance imo

Townsend is not an AFL level mid

We all love him because he tackles hard and gives his all, but that will not translate as well into the seniors where the speed is too much for him.

Jack Ross is the obvious in for me, another ball winner and willing tackler who has the pace to keep up

I would also like to see Townsend in. Why not move Bolton to the midfield to match the pace and then have Towner do what he does? Proven to stand up in a Grand Final and I like Towner's tackling presence more than Ross'. But really both would be great replacements.

Feel for Fridge ,but you can't take injured players into any games let alone a gf.Pickett the wild card gives us speed, spread uses it well great skills tackles hard and wins the footy clearances kicks goals.Kmac is a hard runner and proven on
the big stage and can do a defence job or shut down.Ross looked fantastic early on gave Martin ,Prestia and Cotch chop outs in the guts as he loves the contested stuff and wins clearances.

Who current in our side can do a tagging job against gws ?.For me Pickett is ready.

Ross and Pickett neck and neck

Pickett is a tackle machine...hard body...in the Granny laid 9 tackles and had 20 possies. Was in our bests

Ross, clean and a very good in and under...was solid before he got injured early on but was out for 10 weeks this season and hasn’t played for 2 weeks
Last senior game Ross played was 4-5 weeks ago against WC and struggled with the intensity...and was dropped

Most likely the club will go with Ross....so I’ll back him in bc the club knows best

From Grimes’ presser we’ll be playing team defence and mixing it up. He mentioned the midfield helping out the defence, so I reckon our pressure will be red hot from the get go.

Assuming Broad is fine to play:

Jack Ross
Marlion Pickett
Kamdyn McIntosh

In that order IMO. As others stated multiple times,
- Jack Ross is the most like for like.
- Pickett I think struggles a little with his tackling technique despite having 9 tackles in the VFL Grand Final. Since he has never played at that level, I don’t know if I’d play him. Could be an X-Factor for us if we do select him.
- McIntosh’s form has not convinced me at all in the VFL finals series. He has runs on the board, but the reality is that the AFL is a step up.

Stack is just not fit enough because of his injury unfortunately. He’d have been the first one I’d have put into the side.
