Toby Mclean? Would be a very smart pickup. 23 year old, 80-games of experience and a premiership. Inside/outside mid type capable of big clearance and disposal numbers being played totally out of position due to Macrae, Bont, Dunkley, Hunter, Wallis etc. and with Libba coming back he won't be in his preferred position any time soon. Was dropped once or twice this year.
Not sure what was up with him this season. Started well and then something changed dramatically.

Very very good SF when fit even with the Duckwood academy graduation certificate. Can't see the dogs letting him walk though, they need more classy small forwards not less.

Not sure what they will do with Libba, his time might be up. They are actually better without him eating up Dunkleys midfield minutes. Absolute beast.

Yeah after everything I have called him for ducking and playing for free kicks...I just don’t know how I would go supporting him in Hawks colours

I know what you are saying, but I remember calling Shaun Burgoyne all the names under the sun one day in Launceston after he cleaned up Sammy Mitchell. I gave him hell every time he came from the ground or was anywhere near me that day.

Needless to say, since he has worn Hawks colours he has been one of my favourite players! Things change when the colours change.....So I'm tipping you'd be just fine supporting McLean if in Hawks colours.

So without having any intel whatsoever on this so called blockbuster trade I'll have a stab on what our involvement might be and will go with that we are going to help facilitate the Geelong / WC (Kelly trade). How big our involvement will be I have no idea but one would assume it could have minor picks coming back our way or is it bigger than that (Gaff)?

Just to make it clear I have no idea what's going on and I kind of like it that way but feel free to PM me if anyone knows :)

Given how tall our forward line looks next year, we might be best served with our bomb into the forward line tactic.

But even then I feel we need more mids who can just chip/drop balls to a leading forward. Chad is great for it but maybe one more wingman if we get a rookie or trade pick 11 someone with a bit of polish.

We were spoiled with Brad Hill, S Mitchell and Cyril’s delivery inside 50 over the years.

Petra or Gaff please and thanks!

Basically swapped him to the fwd line for Dunkley is my understanding.

I for one wouldn’t be keen on Gaff if he’s the mentioned interstate mid. Never really rated him, doesn’t seem damaging. I’d be happy to be proven wrong if it was to eventuate.

Yeah certainly lost some minutes to him. When he returned from injury had a cracking game then did his hammy.

Think the rotation is still there for him but got shifted at the time because of his flexibility..

I thought the same but was pretty impressive in the Qual final v Cats.

After watching Castanga burst away from packs in the GF i think that is clearly something we miss.
Castagna is a headless chook but is insanely damaging in that set up. Not sure how he would go in another team.

I don't think he has the necessary skill to make it here but we definitely lack acceleration and speed across the board.

Good luck finding expendale players for reasonable currency though.

Sigh. Just listened to Anderson and Rowell on Gary and Tims show.

Well spoken lads and it's not just a media beat up, they genuinely great mates, along with finn.

Its a pipe dream but id now fully support losing a gunston or a bruest to get one of them, i could see a King twin like reunion in a couple years too, especially if we also get Finn.

How would everyone feel if we acquired Whitfield, but had to lose...Worpel as part of the deal?

One of my mates who has connections to Sandringham Dragons (where he found out) told me this morning that this deal was in the works, but Worps winning the B&F may affect it.

Not saying it's true or has any merit, but that's what I was told this morning. Personally I wouldn't want it to go ahead.

Nah not losing one elite prospect for another.

Worpel is one of the few players on our list i have as untouchable.

Especially the fact that he's also under the most manageable contract he'll likely receive for the rest of his career. This deal (Whitfield for Worpel) is pretty much a sideways move so I'm calling BS.
