Seymour Skinner
Norm Smith Medallist
It's what was keeping him out last year. I believe he had surgery and it's taking time to recover.

Oh geez. I dunno why but I thought he busted his ankle or something.

Convinced myself to not start with Fyfe as he will most likely cop the Benny Jacobs tag Round 1. Gone with Cogs over him instead.
I don't get why people get a hard on for premos after 1 JLT game. It's more about looking at rookies, and the effects of injury/role on players.
I mean what did you expect from Macrae? He's a gun. If he had a slightly quieter game would you be all nah he's shit not picking him, overpriced etc? It's a frigging preseason game that means nothing and people read way too much into premos performances, it's just a warm up for them.
It's not really the one game in isolation, it's also the initial apprehension over whether last year would turn out to be an anomaly and whether more dogs available to the midfield might impact his ability to rack up the footy. Neither looked to be the case and looked like he just picked up right where he left off. Makes me think there won't be a dip in his price/scoring so might as well get him right from the get-go if I can. You're right that a line wouldn't have been drawn through him had he scored poorly, it's more that this just made me underline him.
To be fair, every Doggies mid got off the chain vs GC even Mitch Wallis looked like a Brownlow Medallist. Who do the Doggies play in JLT2? I'd really like to see how they go against another side with a stacked midfield.

So you werent gonna pick sloane coz he would get tagged in 1 game? Id say you have bigger doubts on him in reality. If not, what if Dumont tags him instead?
While I agree that a decision made on 1 game is silly, in Sloane's case I kind of get it.
He also has Hewett from Sydney to contend with early.
So if he had two 60 scores early, you could then pick him up cheaper in round 6-7, in which case 1 game can make a big difference.
My big tip this year is that the extra room to move in the midfield is going to make it easier for faster/outside players to break tags. Zorko, Merrett, Sloane

Nah, I saw him getting tagged twice over 3 weeks, by arguably the two best taggers in the comp in Jacobs and Hewitt.
That would of seen his already bargain price dip even lower, and I'd look to trade him at that point.
I'd be much happier starting him, with the expectation of 1 dud game in his first 5. I could live with that. Especially with the possible dud game being round 2, as it'll only effect his price for 2 weeks not 3.
Reckon the Crows have a tasty draw also, so I'd want him from the get go.
After the North game, with no fear of the Jacobs tag he has GC, Saints, Freo, Port and Brissy.
I want someone like Sloane in my team for that stretch.
That maybe true for some of you.I doubt we're going to see BJ for a while unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong.
