Does Gaff coming back in hurt Dom Sheed?

Last season Sheed was dropped in round 20, then came in for Gaff in round 21. For the rest of the year he went on to average:
28.2 touches, 5.8 marks, 96 DT pts and 97.7 SC pts

A ripper performance in the Grand Final and kicking that bloody goal would have given him an extra confidence boost

In JLT 1 he went absolutely berserk

I currently have him because a ~100 average seems imminent, which is great for a $400k mid who will be my M8 until I can either luxury trade him to a 120+ average mid or move him to M9
Ssshhhh kent

He's missed 2 years entirely out of a 6 year career and when he's managed to be available he's played 50% to 75% of the season. He literally has the worst injury record in history

Convinced myself to not start with Fyfe as he will most likely cop the Benny Jacobs tag Round 1. Gone with Cogs over him instead.
Averages 143 against North and scored 163 last year in a loss. No idea how often Jacobs has played on him, though.

I remember the game last year. Jacobs went to Neale and let Fyfe run a mock. No Neale this year though so Fyfe will be the main target.

Makes sense. Still reckon he's too good, should eke out a ton at least. Esp if he rests forward to get away from Jacobs and plays second tall beside Hogan.

I’m in the same boat. Got him in but don’t know about the gaff situation.
He may go to a rookie to get Billings.

So you are making a choice to suit round one. What about the other 22?? Very short term thinking there my friend. In saying that you can't go wrong with either. Can see them scoring similar through the year so I reckon it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. It's just the logic that puzzles me.
FWIW, I have both.

Is the Jacobs tag as effective against the bigger bodied inside mids? I recall JPK having a season high score of 151SC BOG performance against him last year.

I'm not making the choice just off Round 1, just have a gut feeling that he won't start off red hot as he has in the past, mixture of being basically the only Mid and a bit of an interrupted pre-season.
Cogs will hit that 115 mark this year imo.

Jacobs tagged an injured Dusty ok last year, but tbf Dusty went beast mode when the game was there to be one so it just depends probably.

I doubt we're going to see BJ for a while unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong.

This is one I've been thinking about.
It really is hard to know exactly what is going to happen, Gaff played on Friday Night with most of our mids also playing.
Shuey and a few others were just on limited minutes.

Masten is probably borderline 22, so there is the chance that he drops out which gives us a similar structure to finals last year where Gaff replaces Masten.

The biggest issue Sheed has faced is fitness. Go through his TOG and he very rarely gets above 80%.
Even on the weekend he had 71%, although they could be more management than anything.

But personally, I would avoid as there is a bit of unknown in terms of role and I prefer my players to be spending 85%+ of the time on the pitch, not 20%+ of the match on the bench.

He's definitely someone I'd take in the late rounds of a Draft League though.

What's wrong with Jacobs?
If he's missing the first few games I will pick Sloane in a heartbeat.
