If you have an issue with a modding decision, where it be here or elsewhere, take it up with that mod or contact site admin.

Mods are unpaid volunteers volunteering their time to keep this place running smoothly. Try to respect that. Yeah, we dont always get things right, but most here are just trying to do whats best for everyone. Its impossible for mods to make everyone happy, and for every decision a mod makes, there is always going to be someone who disagrees.

Mod bashing never solves anything and it is simply disrespectful to those who take the time to volunteer for this place.

For so many years our draft blunders were laughed at, we couldn't attract talent from other clubs, we lost the talent we drafted (ala Ottens), we had no decent father sons after Richo/Bowden, we were at the bottom when franchise clubs got the draft concessions, and according to everyone one else - our stars like Dusty would leave for money.

Then we build ourselves up and use the system provided to our advantage and the world melts down, hahaha

I know we've probably all said this a million times but it still gets me

The other thing I don't get, the Richmond supporting footy journos are always pointing it out when we get an advantage.
The Geelong ones all go full throttle to defend anything that favours Geelong.
Essendon ones the same.

While Dusty was a deserved winner I'm a little surprised the voting wasn't closer in regards to recognizing a few of the Tigers back-men; Houli, Edwards etc. Perhaps an oversight considering it's very rare for any team to restrict the opposition to only 3 goals in a GF, thoughts?

The rules are not the rules. There is a reason the AFL formula is confidential, it gives them the flexibility to thumb the scale.

Fwiw the AFL has been changing the weightings, and not because of us. They acknowleged Motlop and Frawley went for too much, and have been raising the bar for first round compo ever since

Ellis being borderline between end of first and second is pretty bang on for this move, and he could fall on either side even without AFL interference

It's too hard to make it 100% pure empirical calculation

It's mostly off contract value and length, but with contracts being blurry as **** (with varying incentives, marketing, etc) it's hard to compare apples with apples 100%

Making player contracts public would make this easier, but the aflpa will never agree to that

Because the confidentiality helps their negotiations, and makes it easier to bury money

Also some players (like Ellis) have been paid overs because of the 85%, and they definitely don't want the public pressure of publicizing that
