If we spend pick 21 on Ah Chee and he plays every game for the season and turns into a gun half back I doubt people will complain.

In the Suns' shoes, he was a pick 8 who has shown his elite talent but been bogged by injuries in the past year or so - he is part of their future and is still valuable to them. He's also worth 4 years to us.

I agree Nunez. Pick 34 is unders IMO. Great if we can make that happen but I always thought he was worth more. I don’t think his value has dropped that much.

Yeah I don't disagree. Currently we have picks 16, 21, 34, 52, 55, & 64 (do the picks after this even matter?). We also have Taylor going to Sydney & Cutler going to Essendon (more likely than not). Given our range of picks & the players heading out I'm hoping we will get to keep our first two to take to the draft & still manage to provide sufficient value to the Suns for the Ah Chee trade.

We pulled a risky move by trading out our 2019 first rounder. It could have gone really pear shaped if we had a few injuries and ended up in the bottom four again. Thankfully we had some ridiculous luck and came 2nd. There is no point risking our hand again by trading out our 2020 first rounder. We just need to consolidate our list and back our year 2-4 players to continue to improve.

problem is the Suns have no picks from 20 to 58 to swap back.
Not sure I want to do 21 for Ah Chee and 58.
Unless we think we can package up the three picks in the 50s. I say we counting on those for academy kids.
34 unders 21 overs.
Unless we do 34 and a player for Ah Chee. Not sure maybe Keays or Walker be good for the Suns.

Edit: Expect Cutler prob 57 and Taylor 54. Not sure we get higher so 5 picks in the 50's be way too much.
You hope 44 for Taylor from Sydney
Bombers 33 we have to give back something like 52. They prob ask for 34 back :)

True but value in trade = need, a thing is worth what i is to others. With Birch in is Chee worth 21 to us?
We’ve signed Birchall for a year. I don’t think he has any influence either way on our need for Ah Chee.

I have no interest in going to the draft this year. I just want us to add talent. We clearly like Ah Chee and everyone accepts that he has talent. It is a no brainer just to get the deal done IMO.

I was hoping we could turn Lewis Taylor & something into Sydney's pick 25 & use that for Ah Chee. Taylor & 34 seems too much though, or is that just me?

I think it is closeish to be honest. His true worth is in the 40s imo so getting a pick upgrade is the best we can hope for.

Could maybe do a future pick swap with the swans (e.g our future second + Lewy for 25 plus their future third). I’ve read in the Age that they may need points for academy prospects next year so that could interest them. But that’s just an off the top of my head suggestion.

If we can trade Cutler and a pick in the 50’s for either of Bombers picks in the 30’s, then we could try and package the two picks in the 30’s we would have to Fremantle for their pick 22.

Freo have a NGA kid that is likely to receive a bid in the 12 to 18 range. The two picks in the 30’s would allow Freo to match a bid from about 11 and back without incurring a draft deficit.

21 is overs, we of all teams know this. We got pick 25 and 40 for Schache who was a rarer comodity, higher pick and in contract.

Look what happened to us with the go home 5.

Young players lose their draft currency pretty quickly if they don't have decent exposed form, plus he is OOC and we arn't deperate.

34 is what he is worth to us, we shouldn't be looking to meet GC on a good deal for them.

Maybe 34 and a late pick shuffle gets it done?

Josh Bruce is worth a pick the 30s.

If 13 was over for Charlie Cameron in people's eyes, a kid who had just kicked 5 goals in a winning prelim side, then 21 for AChee is overs - he has injury issues and hasn't even fired a shot yet.

34.

And Josh Bruce is contracted.
