I'm happy choosing the best pure mid in the draft at #1. But is that Phillips or Campbell? Do the phantoms have Campbell rated lower just because he is tied?

If it's Campbell, we should call him at #1. If Syd match, we do the JUH at #2, take EH or LM @ #3, then everyone except North and Syd (who lose pick 3 and 34) move up. It puts DGB (strongly linked to Syd) back in the mix for other clubs. This gives us every chance that Thilthorpe will still be there at least until Essendon's first bid, and then we can talk to Ess about what happens in the next 4 picks.

At this stage Im genuinely happy to let it ride out, I seriously cannot cast judgement on who we select, till they have played at least a string of games in a row to get a true reflection.

I will be happy whoever we take. The Club also has the responsibility of developing and guiding the kid down the right path as well.

Yes to 1. No to 2.
Thanks, that's my suspicion also.

And we could, in theory at least, take 4 in the ND, elevate a rookie and then take a pick in the RD? (In the <24 hours between the ND and the RD)?

We don't have 31 until adding Hately (tomorrow) too
Good point. Going into the ND we officially have 30 on the senior list, with the PSD to come. We are (at least) going to bring our senior list to 35 (one short) in the ND and then get to the minimum using the PSD. Therefore it's possible to come out of the ND short.

Campbell's not the best performed pure mid in this draft but unlike Phillips he has way more versatility in that he's more the mid/forward and hits the scoreboard in bunches....and that left foot bazooka is hard to miss.

Yes, we could... in theory. Why we would choose to do so, having previously moved 2 players off the senior list, escapes me. The only way I see this happening is if live trading results in us not having those 5 picks inside the top-50.

Never ever forgotten , any of them, the best memories as a kid . All players and loyal supporters had tea at the club every Saturday night mixing together like a big family . To have someone like Blighty bring you over a raspberry and lemonade , half cut, and talking footy was something special
back when they treated every win like a premiership.

Just stole this from the main board, the general consensus from the Phantom Drafts on Bigfooty.

Perkins Manager Robbie D'Orazio/Connor Sports now in damage control...Some really weird sh*t he has to say

Archie Perkins up for any AFL draft move: manager

BS all in damage mode

North will take Powell at pick 11, unless he goes earlier of course (which doesn’t seem likely at this stage)
Good player Powell. And the boys want to be him, and the girls want to be with him...

Also I notice that the VFL have been asked to comment, but have nothing to say! o_O They seem happy to pronounce on just about everything else.

Would want to use his offensive weapons massively in the AFL the way it's played nowadays to survive because he has zero defensive effort.
But that is something that you can develop but his natural ability offensively is hard to teach.

All I am saying is that he is FAR from a finished product but he has the tools to be a star with genuine X factor and that is why I would not give him up if the bid comes around our 5th pick.

Did his player manager seriously say that?

"Look, boys wants to be him and girls want to be with him. He's a ripper." - Robbie D'Orazio

WTF?

I'd be looking for a different player manager quick smart Archie before any more damage is done.

Thought the boys want to be him, girls want to shag him, seemed a bit unnecessary
