Hell Zak butters was Vic Metro and he's from Darley which is next door to Bacchus Marsh... :)
I had to look both of those up😂 and they certainly look like what I would call country.

not if they have the necessary points to match a pick 1 bid - maybe they have other irons in the fire to worry about and have this one fairly well covered under any pick swap scenario
Well if they are not worried about having to cough up 2400 points to cover an NGA bid then they have some pretty average list managers.
I have no idea how much we want pick 14, but if we do then I’m pretty sure we can get it.

I agree it makes sense for us to pick swap with them if we want 14 (and we should do if the price is right). All I am saying is there will be other teams seeking that pick no doubt and some like Melbourne currently don't have a 1st round pick and may be quite desperate to grab it and could offer up greater points to do so..we just need to be aware of that

might be a stupid question, but where is this hawthorn 4th next year from?

Kyle Hartigan

oh. duh. thanks mate!

IIRC he goes to us automatically or is that just for F/S. Where's Vader when you need him?
Father / Son you could take automatically in the Rookie Draft if h was nominated and overlooked in the main draft

Not sure of the situation with NGA players

Next Generation Academy Concessions

From 2021, Next Generation Academies (NGAs) - targeting Indigenous and multicultural players - will be overseen by the AFL Talent Pathway program with support from AFL Clubs. As part of this change, the AFL Commission determined that the concession model for NGAs be revised to reflect this.

The following changes to the NGA concession model ahead of the 2021 and 2022 NAB AFL Drafts will be as follows:

  • From 2021, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 21 in the NAB AFL Draft. All other players selected from Pick 41 onwards can be matched by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.
  • From 2022, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 41 onwards by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.

Th question was in relation to the rules around taking an NGA player in the Rookie Draft ......are they the same rules as a father / son ?

I think what I bolded in red at the bottom doesn't change?

Which I take it as meaning if he's not taken in the National Draft he then becomes ours if we want him.

Also my take on this is if Tariek were to go undrafted in the National Draft we can then take him on as a Cat B rookie? That's if the Cat B still remains after the mooted changes to list sizes etc.

However, the Category B rule is designed for specific types, including international recruits, players who have not registered in an Australian Football competition for three years, or NSW or Queensland zone selections.

Next Generation Academy prospects can also be eligible for this.

Hi BF. I just got home after a 10 hour ball breaker and can't be stuffed reading. What happened to pick 33 please?

Human sacrifice

swapped it with Melbourne for picks next year

We can not give the Melb 2nd rounder to GWS.
40 Or PSD, if we have to wait until the last 5 mins then that's what we'll do

Who cares? It's more-or-less equivalent to pick 33, which was the next offer in the process. If they don't take that, then PSD.
The big takeaway from this is that we are indeed not stupid enough to offer pick 23, which the AFL scum were pushing for, and many of you were having nightmares over. Think about that: we're not that stupid! ;) (Keeps fingers firmly crossed)
