The AFL has today announced a revised fixture for Rounds Six and Seven of the 2020 Toyota Premiership Season.

Round Five will continue as fixtured and Victorian based clubs will fly out at the conclusion the round with all 10 Victorian-based teams to be temporarily relocated to other states across the country.

The amendment to the fixture has been made based on relevant State Government and Medical officer advice to firstly ensure the safety of not only the clubs, players, officials and the wider community, but also to provide certainty to clubs and fans on the next block of games.

The temporary relocation of all 10 Victorian-based teams out of the state will see them move to bases in Queensland, NSW and WA where they will undergo the various quarantine regimes while also continuing to adhere to the strict protocols the AFL has in place.

where has the talk of playing adelaide in Round 8 come from??
I think the talk is playing games in Adelaide from Rd 8, not playing Adelaide the team. We are playing everyone only once.

Currently if you live in WA, NT, Qld, and Tassie or have for at least 2 weeks you can fly into SA and don't have to do 14 days quarantine.

NSW and ACT residents and those who have been living there can do it from 20th July. Victorian residents wont get 20th July exemption from SA.

So St Kilda played last night, probably fly up to Qld tomorrow the 4th. 14 days living in Qld to cleanse them, take its to 18th, hence Adelaide get a game at AO vs the Saints on Monday night the 20th.

So there is no reason why we can't play at AO Saturday 25th or Sunday 26th. They wont give us a Thursday night or Friday night game. Edit don't want a Thursday night or Friday night game for Rd 8 as our Rd 7 game is a Sunday, but after that ........

While it wont appeal to our sponsors, I don't see how it affects our incentive to perform.
Eyes on the cup mate, that's all that matters.
I'm saying we are top and we should be rewarded with primetime games like the CEO stated. "If you perform you'll be rewarded with them" considering the fixture is dynamic.

Makes no sense as to why we can't play GWS in Adelaide... There's no restrictions or border issues preventing this ..
Incorrect. We can't play a NSW side in Adelaide without them doing 14th day quarantining until 20th July.

Its not just about the corporate side of things.

Players want to play on Thursday or Friday night or Saturday so that their preparing for the game weekend doesn't drag to Sunday, especially the 4.40pm EST Sunday games which post covid seem to be 6.40pm games.

Sure the hub changes routines, but if our players are flying back to be based in Adelaide the long Sunday affect kicks back in as the players are back to a more normal routine.
