In 2004 Port had 6 early Sunday games...... You see where I'm going with this?
In 2015 we had 4 consecutive Sunday twilight games. It was BS.

Port are a game clear on top of the ladder why the he’ll do we get the stupid Sunday games? We actual play a game style that is enjoyable to watch.

Because Eddie has instructed Gil to punish us for our insubordination.

I think the talk is playing games in Adelaide from Rd 8, not playing Adelaide the team. We are playing everyone only once.

Currently if you live in WA, NT, Qld, and Tassie or have for at least 2 weeks you can fly into SA and don't have to do 14 days quarantine.

NSW and ACT residents and those who have been living there can do it from 20th July. Victorian residents wont get 20th July exemption from SA.

So St Kilda played last night, probably fly up to Qld tomorrow the 4th. 14 days living in Qld to cleanse them, take its to 18th, hence Adelaide get a game at AO vs the Saints on Monday night the 20th.

So there is no reason why we can't play at AO Saturday 25th or Sunday 26th. They wont give us a Thursday night or Friday night game.
Could the Crow’s and Port’s 2’s be the curtain raiser for that Monday nite game (20th July)? Crows v St Kilda.

Not if Saints want to play a curtain raiser. If not I guess the two teams would need to agree and ask AFL.

There's nothing I want more than to see Port supporters in prison bar jumpers celebrating the premiership this year.
He who laughs last.
The precedent has been set. If we play Richmond in a GF they wear their jumper and black shorts, we wear the PB's and white shorts.

We should have them on standby for the players to change into when they receive their medals. Etch this motherf@&ker into VFL history!!

Collingwood by round 7 would have played 4 of the other Big 5 Vic teams. As I said, they are running out of Big Vic match ups. You'd have to think the AFL would be eyeing off a Port v Collingwood top 4 game. If they schedule it in Adelaide it will be opening the door for the crowd to rock up in the Prison Bars. Will be fascinating to see which way they go and I think it will be an indication on which way they will go on the Prison Bar issue.

Im now confused how we can still play the Giants next week in QLD given they play hawks this week. Have QLD given an exemption ?
That's a good point. According to the states border rules, that would effectively mean we can't return home until 14 days after playing GWS.

Far out. That would have to mean that we aren't returning home until round 9.

So frustrating that we could be attending a stack of games right now but we can't bloody get teams here.

So the plan must be, play Brisbane, return home, fly back to GC to play GWS, stay another week in GC, play Carlton, stay in GC another week, play another team, then finally return back to play in Adelaide round 9

I guess we will have to wait until there is further clarification around this.

Interesting

Hope we get in few home games before the Vics head home

"As part of this move, we will play a total of 45 games in approximately 32 days.

All Victorian clubs will then return for a short break after that period and we will re-assess our options, depending on the Covid-19 situation across the country. If we aren't able to do this, then we will make the appropriate adjustments."

Why couldn’t we play in Adelaide in Round 8?
Because as Arsene pointed out, we play GWS, who are exposed to a Vic team this weekend. So in theory after our GWS game we can't return home for 2 weeks without quarantining. So unless we get a special exemption, we wont be back in Adelaide until after the round 8 weekend.

"McLachlan said having all Victorian-based clubs in hubs in NSW and on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast was an "incredible opportunity" for the sport to spread its tentacles in the rugby-league heartland. Broadcast ratings in the northern markets have already enjoyed a strong lift this season."

I know having all these Sunday games sucks, but it looks to me like it might be a necessary evil given

A) We aren't allowing NSW teams to fly in until July 20
B) We aren't allowing Vic clubs in, or even to play against us, until they've spent 2 weeks outside of Victoria.

I assume St Kilda and Carlton, having played yesterday, are leaving Victoria tomorrow or early Sunday. They are both in "quarantine" in Round 6. Both us and Adelaide play teams already "safe" in non-Vic states. Then on Sunday, both Carlton and Saints come out of quarantine - we play Carlton that day, and Crows take advantage of the fact that one of us can play at home the next day, which is July 20. It seems shitty but it makes sense.

It wouldn't surprise me if St Kilda stay here in Adelaide for the next 3 days and we get them as a Thursday night game. This would make sense and you would assume be reasonably appealing to channel 7 given both of our form. If they don't stay, then we should be getting some better spots, with crowds, starting in round 8 anyway.

It seems shitty on paper but I think that's just how it has to go.

The press conference states we will fly in and out for round 6 and 7.

We must've gotten special dispensation to not have to go through quarantine post GWS game.

Gil is very optimistic that the outbreak will be under control by then. That is just over 2 virus cycles. With the outbreak suburbs growing daily, it is unlikely that the outbreak will be quashed that quickly.

Have been keeping a small spreadsheet of who plays where, but updated it and broken it down further between National teams and Victorian teams.

GWS will be the biggest winners by the end of Rd 7, with 5 home games at Giants Stadium.

At some point the 6 Vic teams in Qld hub will have to play Brisbane and Gold Coast. If Victoria still has issues by about Rd 11, then where will those Vic teams play the 2 Qld teams? Carlton v Brisbane home game on the GC or in Sydney?? Surely can't have it at the Gabba.

Hawthorn and Melbourne are hubbing it in Sydney, Geelong and Collingwood there for 1 week and then 3 weeks in Perth.

Brisbane play Geelong in Sydney Rd 6 and GC play Melbourne in Sydney in Rd 6 as well.
