Also in what is likely to drive me insane today, word is that our #1 pick who is being switched to LT, a position he has never played (but whom analytics told the baseball guys isn’t a big deal) is STRUGGLING.

Something to watch today

true, but hes still a good one, someone they correctly scouted as being a high upside long term starter that could be got later and fry other fish at other positions. mack wilson being out doesnt help either , but when he returns your LB corp wont be a perceived weakness. Your real weakness is just a new regime and finding themselves, needing time to click

They are not new...DePodesta has been there for years and Berry was his guy learning to break down game film by forcing Pettine to spend Tuesdays with him and Sashi.

That dog don’t hunt GG

;)

No, it is Wills learning curve. They passed on natural LT’s to select a RT that has never played there.

I guess analytics didn’t tell them what anyone who played the game could—that when you have been a RT since you were 12 years old...probably the NFL is not the best place to learn LT after 10 years of instinct, technique etc that is now completely useless with the switch.

If he is struggling in practice...good god what is it going to look like today?

Again—Browns trying to be smartest guys in the draft room

Example ten billion since Depodesta darkened our doors

Garrett has been mostly lined up on the right side when he practiced. Purposely to avoid wrecking Wills

So that isn’t why he is struggling

How do you deal with 40+ weather every day?

Way I have handled it is getting up earlier and doing outside activities before 11 am.

The evenings can be pleasant as well.

You aren’t outside extended periods of time from noon to about 7-8pm

But I LOVE it compared to sub zero winters. In winter you can’t go out and not freeze your ass off.

In 40 plus high days you can go outside

Huge difference

Relatively new to viewing the sport.
Just a general media and sports question:
How do they divvy up the NFL broadcast rights in America?
It's Fox, NBC, who else?
Does one network get inferior games?
How do they allocate it?
Thanks.

There are different packages of games

ESPN has Monday nights (abbreviated to MNF)
NBC has Sunday nights (SNF)
Fox and CBS share the early and late afternoon games, with Fox having mostly NFC games while CBS mostly has AFC games

Thursday nights are shared between NBC and the NFL Network 8 each

Thanks very much.
I was reading the Disney President Bob Iger's autobiography, "Ride of a Lifetime".
It was recommended by Bill Gates in his essay, Gates Notes.
Well worth reading.
Iger started out in NFL broadcasting.
Iger was at ABC, under the legendary TV sports producer, Roone Arledge, who pioneered Monday night football.

All good, I still get confused with the terminology "our" #1 pick vs "the" #1 pick. When I see "our #1 pick" I think #1 overall.
