Well he has been historically bad.

Football Outsiders DYAR stat goes back 12 years, and Wentz's start to the season has been the worst opening two weeks by any QB over that time

So far in 2020, Wentz has been worse than ever. He leads the NFL with four interceptions. He also leads the NFL with eight sacks (tied with Houston's Deshaun Watson). As our quarterbacks page shows, he is last in the league in DVOA, QBR, and passing DYAR. He's also last with a combined -337 passing and rushing DYAR. In the last 12 years of Quick Reads data, no quarterback has been worse after Week 2.

Howard going to be on the first train out of there as soon as his rookie deal is up. Bucs better trade him while they can.

NE should be calling, should have pushed for him to be involved earlier...

Yep - Wentz is finished

I've got to give it up to Cam, making me eat my words. Was massively impressive vs Seattle. If his body holds up he's an absolute lock for comeback player of the year.
I can’t believe people hate him. Sure he dresses weird and uses weird letters in his Instagram but he is a baller and seems like an actual decent guy

Giants signed RB Devonta Freeman to a one-year contract worth "up to" $3 million.
Freeman had offers in the offseason worth more money, but he waited until he could find a spot where he could play. The Giants have passing-down specialist Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman on the roster, but Freeman is the favorite for the most touches once he's incorporated into the offense. Lewis probably sees the most snaps in Week 3 because Freeman can't practice until he passes multiple days of COVID-19 tests. Behind this offensive line, Freeman would do well to be a weekly flex option in 2020.

They are clearly doing it wrong...as the NFL has shown, there is no positive test results—ever.

Just adverse reactions to painkillers resulting in breathing difficulties

;)

cos the show must go on

The odds remain that at least one of these 350 pound lineman is going to get very ill.

Analytics boys taught me that.

If the NFL finish the season they can sign new TV rights. and a report came out over the weekend that Fox is willing to pay up to $2B a year to keep its current NFC package and TNF. They currently pay $1.08B.

And ESPN/ABC want back in on the Superbowl rotation. They also want the extra 16 games that would happen if the NFL extend to a 18 week season. ESPN would get 1 extra game a week being played on a Sunday afternoon.

So no shit the NFL Want to get this season in the books so they can do new deals worth stupid money if other networks throw up similar cash as Fox

EDIT: with NFL Sunday ticket no longer exclusive to DirecTV you could see others bid on out of market games. Might even be Amazon looking for more streaming rights

Oh I don’t doubt they are not pushing on—just the idea they remain completely unaffected is well

absurd

As long as a big name doesnt get Rona in season they will hide it. or say more false positives.

Or someone is hospitalized and family spills the beans

Personally I think NFL has adopted a collect the tests and deposit them in the garbage approach

looking at what everyone pays for the NFL currently

Fox $1.08B
CBS $1B
NBC $950M
ESPN $1B
Amazon $70M [Fox TNF simulcast]
Sunday Ticket $1.5B

and then there is whatever they get from radio, Mobile streaming, and whatever they get from NFL network and local broadcasters for preseason games.
Sunday Ticket streaming will explode. you could have Amazon and ESPN+ throwing stupid money for out of market games.

I wonder how much Gamepass will go up in 2022 when the new rights start.

Players were prob made to sign NDA's or will risk getting blacklisted

You may be right. The nonsense with Taylor might be evidence for that.

At the NFL level players like Tyrod have been given plenty of painkillers in their lives to avoid accidental adverse reactions.

I am guessing they would have given him toridal as a pain reliever prior to a game and there is no way he wouldn’t have had that before Sunday

Miami
at Jacksonville It took the Bills QB racking up game statistics not seen for close on 20 years to beat the Phins last week. That’s all on Ryan Fitzpatrick who does nothing to script and got his team to hang tough all game. His Week 2 performance keep the start Tua crowd at bay for at least another week.

Chicago at Atlanta 440-1. That’s the stat line we have been hearing since Sunday being the record of teams who score 39 points, do not register a turnover and lose. I argue the Falcons effort is ineligible since isn’t the recovery of the onside kick by the Cowboys a turnover? Edit: I am sure someone will point out the incorrectness of my assumption.

Cincinnati at Philadelphia This contest wont be so much about who wins on the scoreboard and keeps their season alive as which team’s offensive line gets their QB killed first.

Houston at Pittsburgh If the trade of Hopkins wasn’t a head scratching move before then watching the Texans offense flail about without purpose once again leaves no doubt as to its ridiculousness. Lucky Bill O’Brien hasn’t got a GM to answer to. Maybe the NFL needs to bring in a trade veto rule like fantasy football.

Los Angeles Rams at Buffalo The Rams have played two teams from the NFC East who each have their own massive limitations and all of a sudden they are elite again? This week’s match up represents a stiffer challenge with the early timeslot, flying across the country and playing a team that can play both offense and defense.

Las Vegas at New England After playing with Brady for most of his career, it took all of 2 games for Pats receiver Julian Edelman to record a single game career-high 179 receiving yards catching passes from a fully fit Cam Newton. No knock on Teddy Bridgewater but imagine what McCaffrey would have done with a fully fit Newton?

San Francisco at New York Giants Think the 49ers might be a little gun-shy walking back onto the same turf that cost them their 2020 campaign a week ago? Nonetheless, one fantasy footballer’s loss is another team’s gain. Barkley out, McKinnon in. Oh, and there is no truth to the rumour I had ordered Bosa, Solomon or Mostert jerseys last week.

Tennessee at Minnesota The Vikings may also come into contention to draft Lawrence next year but I fully expect that once the pressure is off and expectations are extremely low for Kirk Cousins to start playing lights out and win just enough games to take Minnie out of the running.

Washington at Cleveland I’m sure the Browns fans saw last week as the turning point of the season for them. Afterall beating the worst team of 2019 starting a rookie QB instils this sort of confidence. To be fair, Football Team (Football Team V Browns….oh what a marketing department’s worst nightmare!) sports a pretty good defense with some nasty passrushers. Let’s see how Mayfield’s signature “back and to the right” move fairs this week first.

Carolina at Los Angeles Chargers The offensive skill position players of the Panthers will be hitting some late night cramming not seen since they got their nerdy classmate to complete their assignments in college. McCaffrey’s injury means someone has to get the ball thrown or handed to them. This wasn’t in the script in training camp.

New York Jets at Indianapolis When Philip Rivers heaved that redzone interception on the opening drive last week for a brief moment I feared my baseless prediction was going to come true (Colts tanking). They probably watched the Jets game earlier and realised that aspiring to be that bad was unlikely. In any case, welcome to the Big Apple Mr Lawrence, I hope you enjoy being tutored by Adam Gase.

Dallas at Seattle By rights, the Cowboys should be 0-3 following this contest and that would have been fine by me as I have a bet with a friend that the team who finishes last in the NFC West will have a better win/loss record than the champions of the NFC East. Mike McCarthy on the hot seat is also so much more entertaining.

Detroit at Arizona Give the Detroit Lions credit. They make losing fun to watch. More seriously, I am concerned by what the Cards are putting together, never a team that has demonstrated sustained competitiveness this might be their one in six year cycle of being a divisional nuisance. I’m heading over to fanatics.com now to bring forward that Larry Fitzgerald jersey purchase.

Tampa Bay at Denver Denver may well, through no fault of their own, emerge as a dark horse in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. Losing Sutton certainly “helps” but I rate Lock and wish him a speedy recovery. It was bad enough listening to people rave about Manning in Denver for a couple of years. Lawrence in Denver for the next 15 would be too much.

Green Bay at New Orleans After watching the Saints defence on Monday Night Football I only have one thing to say to fantasy owners of any Packer players. Start them all I fear the cliff is coming quickly for New Orleans.

Kansas City at Baltimore You sensed that maybe both Mahommes and Jackson put in relatively “average” performances last week as they looked ahead to this game. Given the new playoff format this game has massive implications as the No 1 seed in the AFC could be on the line. Ravens win because their defense will manage to stop KC one or two times more than the other way around.

As an aside, I have gotten that before and can attest it works and then some.

That shit was good—for about 4 hours lol
