Bengals acquired OL B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick from the Seahawks in exchange for DE Carlos Dunlap.
Signed to a two-year, $8 million deal in March, Finney didn't win a starting job in Seattle and didn't play a single offensive snap Weeks 1-7. He has a much better shot at finding playing time in Cincinnati where offensive line is a big weakness. Finney can play guard or center.

The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports teams have called the Texans about the availability of Randall Cobb.
Cobb is coming off an 8-95 line on 10 targets against the Packers in Week 7, so this might be the time to sell high on him ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The 30-year-old slot man inked a three-year deal with Houston in the offseason and has posted a meager 30-372-2 line on 38 targets through seven games. It wouldn't take much to acquire him.

The Athletic's Aaron Reiss reports the Packers are "among the teams to inquire about" the availability of Will Fuller.
Reiss adds that "no deal is imminent," and the Texans aren't interested in a fire sale and "won't trade just to trade." Fuller is in the final year of his rookie deal and obviously needs a new contract after this season. Houston may not be willing to pay him the kind of money he's seeking, so trading him ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline could be their best move to get compensation back in return. Fuller is a top-20 NFL wideout when healthy. Pairing him with Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers would be really fun.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Falcons have had trade talks about DE Takk McKinley.
McKinley missed three games with a groin injury and played just 27 snaps last week. He'll need to prove he's healthy to be traded, but teams around the league expect him to be moved. 24-year-old McKinley is in the final year of his rookie deal after the Falcons declined his option.

Seahawks acquired DE Carlos Dunlap from the Bengals for OL B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick.
This had been expected the last couple weeks. Dunlap asked for a trade and had become a team distraction after his Week 5 benching. It's possible a change of scenery will help, as Dunlap is a year removed from a nine sack season. The Seahawks are taking on the rest of Dunlap's $7.8 million salary and he's owed a non-guaranteed $11.25 million in 2021. Trading Dunlap leaves a dead cap hit of $8.43 million for the Bengals over the next two seasons.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said he plans to make changes coming out of the team's Week 8 bye.
"I'm going to look at some things, I want to go a little outside the box. I'm going to go after it and however it falls, it falls, but it's open for me. I've done crazy [stuff] before." ESPN's Michael DiRocco believes benching Gardner Minshew "certainly could be on the table." The Jaguars are winless in six straight games and looking for a second-half spark. They may be tempted to see what they have in sixth-round QB Jake Luton — who had a 28:3 TD/INT ratio in the Pac-12 last year. Minshew avoided an in-game benching in Week 7, but Luton could potentially start after Jacksonville's bye.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said he "doesn't know anything" about Stephon Gilmore trade rumors.
This conflicts with reports the Patriots are shopping Gilmore. New England gave Gilmore a $5 million raise last month, but he's had a down year and spent time on the COVID-19 list. The Patriots (2-4) could end up sellers at this year's trade deadline.

Dolphins signed TE Adam Shaheen to a two-year, $7.65 million contract.
The deal contains $3.2 million fully guaranteed. Miami traded a conditional seventh-round pick for Shaheen back in July. He's played 32% of snaps as the No. 2 tight end behind Mike Gesicki and is coming off a 3/51/1 line in Week 7. Shaheen's extension keeps him in Miami through 2022.

The Cowboys have told DT Dontari Poe and CB Daryl Worley they’ll be released if they can’t be traded this week.
Poe hasn't done much this season, posting seven tackles on a 53% snap rate. He hasn't looked the same since tearing his quad late last year. Poe is signed through 2021, but Dallas can save $3.2 million from trading him. The Cowboys are also expected to move on from Worley after benching him in Week 7.

Nice move, annoyed it wasnt Carolina. We need some veteran help opposite Burns. :(

It is funny, the Browns analytics apologists always say these equations and mathematical gymnastics are alllll about giving the team the best mathematical chance to win.

The stupid coin flip deferment being A Number 1 Prime example. Point to gibberish about having ball 2x in a row blah blah blah.

Yet even their mathematical equations show what my own two little know nothing eyeballs see. The Browns offense is the best unit on the squad. Certainly, FAR superior to the swiss cheese defense.

So which unit gives the Browns the BEST chance to win at the start of each game?

Yet which unit do they roll out there each and every time they win the coin flip?

I didn’t go to the Ivy League but trailing 3-0 or 7-0 makes it harder to win the damn game than being up 3-0 or 7-0

But I am just a lowly Mid American Conference graduate so what do I know?
Most teams defer these days. Belichick had the GOAT at QB and has deferred nearly every time. All teams have analytics department.

Best reason to me is you’ve had a half to analyse what the opposition is doing and can take greater advantage at start of second half. Other reason is to pair possession by having back to back at end of first/ start of second. Not so sure on that reasoning.

Looks like they couldn't find a trade partner

BB is not the be all and end all for me, as you know.

He also was blessed with defenses that were not sieves either.

There may be occasions to put your defense out on the field first but I cannot fathom even one reason for the Browns to do it.

When they get a real defense (and since the analytics bros hate linebackers that won’t happen anytime soon) I will consider whether deferring makes sense in a given situation.

Short of that, nothing is changing my mind.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians said WR Antonio Brown will be "ready to go" for Week 9 against the Saints.
Arians adds that Brown "looks fantastic" and is already participating in meetings and strength work. The Bucs are considered one of the top teams in the NFL through seven weeks of the season, but adding a volatile ingredient like Brown to a currently well-designed recipe will either hurt the final product or act as the missing piece, helping it reach its best form. Chris Godwin has been ruled out for Week 8 with a broken finger, so if his Week 9 status is in doubt Brown could be instantly in line for a significant role.

Good luck trying to trade players you publicly told you will cut in a few days.

The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports the Cowboys are not willing to trade Michael Gallup before Tuesday's trade deadline.
Gallup is on pace to take a step backward across the board in 2020, but a lot of that can be contributed to the team's underwhelming play under center and the coaching staff's persistence in keeping the 24-year-old glued to the boundary for deep (and hard to catch) opportunities. As horrible as the organization has been at making long-term decisions, it's Cooper and his fully guaranteed $20 million salary in 2021 that would likely (and ideally) be shipped before Gallup. That's still a possibility if any suitors are willing to send back a conditional draft pick and convert most of Cooper's salary into a signing bonus to pay across the next four years. It's still undetermined if the Cowboys will be buyers or sellers on November 3.

If they were to trade someone it should of been trying to find a sucker for Cooper.

Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Rays analytics Paul DePodesta clones

Once more demonstrating the genius it takes to have absolutely no feel for the game or moment and instead making sure spreadsheets designed by people who couldn’t throw a ball to home plate from the pitching mound on a fly were rigidly adhered to

Well done you absolute tools

The Browns analytics wunderkinds salute you

:)
I thought of you at the end of that game lol
