The AFL sends memo to clubs ordering coronavirus tests ahead of Monday training

Within the document, there are stern warnings against both breaking the outlined procedures - so as to not risk losing the confidence of governments and medical authorities – and breaching new protocols around expenditure in the football departments.


Guess we’ll find out how stern the warnings really are ...

Well well well Port/Wines jeopardising the future of the AFL on the eve of the season reboot...

Another incident under the watch of KKK... What's going on at that club.

Surely suspended and 14 days iso, can't risk exposing him to our players and then sending everyone to a hub during the period where they could still not be showing symptoms.

Heritier does come across as a bit unusual at times but some of these claims are quite specific (nicknames used, AFL staff lying about meetings being held) rather than simply his viewpoint

Footy blokes do tend to be a bit 'edgy' with their humour such as the Lez nickname for Seedsman. Would be easy to see how nicknames like those mentioned could creep in. Casual racism ("I don't mean any harm by it...") was the term used when Adam Goodes was going through the booing saga

Could 100% expect it to be footy players thinking they're being "larrikins" and because they like him and are teammates there's no harm/no foul.

It's no surprise the only ones who had an issue with it were the other indigenous players and Shae McNamara, who probably has a better grasp on racism being from the US. There's still so many in Australia and around the world who think spouting off casually racist remarks because "it's funny" or "they didn't mean anything by it/stop being so sensitive" is OK.

Ollie being interviewed by channel 7 at his house. Its a breach as interviews only allowed to happen via skype or at the players club.

Pretty brain dead on the eve of the league re-start.

Not the end of the world though.

Wouldn't all media requests go through the club? Or has Wines done this on his own accord?

Seems a big stuff up by Port, Wines should of known but you would think the club would of organised it. The risk was low but the AFL may make an example of him.

Just not the same without the laceups, all tbose logos make it look very corporate.

Mind you all their bandwagon supporters probably never saw the real Port Maggies play in their laceups jumper.

Laughable when they go on and on about heritage and the importance of their history. They 'have' to wear the prison bars because it's soooo important to their history. Oh, but we are happy to completely denigrate it by plastering an oversized sponsors logo over it and to completely overshadow our club logo (that we stole and copied) for the $$$.
Koch has zero interest in their actual heritage. It's just bluff and grandstanding.

Suspended suspension and Ken Hinkley to be suspended for 6 weeks.

Although the AFL did say they would go hard.

Pretty simple, he goes into full quarantine for 2 weeks. Imagine the reporter gets a sniffle and is tested on Monday and comes back positive. That’s 2 entire teams compromised. It’s all very unlikely at this stage, but these are the rules they’re operating under at present.
