Is it weird that no Collingwood or Brisbane players ever like a post from Dayne Beams on social media? He’s posted quite a lot about opening up on his mental health issues and his art classes that he runs. I’m sure he still gets on well with some of his former teammates, but it just seems odd.

Yep, the quality of footy has fallen off a cliff, but it’s hardly surprising given the lack of training and games over the last 3 months
He's never been committed beyond the pay cheque. If Carlton paid what we paid he'd still be there.

What a mess. Is Burton running the AFL's fixturing department now?
Only option is to call a two-week suspension of games whilst Victorian teams travel to SA/WA/QLD/NT to self isolate. Then play all games there for a month and re-assess.

It's going to come to a head soon, the Vic outbreak is only going to get worse. I can't see the Crows playing in Melbourne in round 7. They will have no option but to play all games outside Victoria soon. If the AFL season is to be completed the Vic team MUST move. Any other conclusion is just living in denial.

Especially when you get knuckle draggers like Brian Taylor on radio just the other day abusing anyone that suggested the grand final be played away from the MCG..'but but there is a contract till 2055 ra ra ra'

When an SA/WA/QLD based hub for Victorian teams was raised as an option months ago, the AFLPA came out immediately with whinging Dangerfield and Cotchin to not even consider it.
Now that we have SA/WA/QLD based clubs at risk of going to Victoria, we get absolute crickets from AFLPA. And nothing at all on the potential for hubs outside of Victoria.

Can someone please explain to me (apart from the obvious, it really is the VFL) why the Swans should lose their home game (with an expected crowd of 10k) and have to play WC on the GC? Just because Richmond cant play in Qld?

75 new cases in CoVic. Surely the AFL can't keep playing games in Melbourne? Even a hub in Ballarat or Geelong would have to be an option?

Wrong. All non-Vic clubs will have to go to Victoria and remain there for the rest of the season.

The only sensible solution that can keep the comp progressing is to split into Vic and non-Vic conferences, and play out the season from there.
The non-Vic teams have already played 3 of the 5 other non-Vic teams, and will have played all 5 by the end of R6.
The only viable solution now is to get the Vic teams out of Victoria, and keep them out until the state has CV-19 back under control.
Surely at a minimum they move the Victorians out of their homes and into hotels with isolation protocols to protect everyone.
It's fine to have rules and guidelines but if the person you live with doesn't have to follow them it's pointless at the same time.
