I'm finding it tough to watch footy at the moment. Feels like preseason games. Not sure if it's because we're struggling so much or just the whole situation

Windies are 2/108 after bowling England out for 204

I got bored and stopped watching just before half time.

The Derby will be a treat next week. I expect a TV record for AFL in 2020. Crowds will be attending.

I hardly recognise a single batsmen in the entire England batting lineup.

Their country is just now geared towards ODIs and T20s. Tests have begun to feel too long and slow for them.

Some players they've invested time in (eg O'Brien) haven't really progressed at all
The last 4-5 years about the only good player they've drafted is James Worpel and maybe Blake Hardwick and go back 7 odd years you can add James Sicily to that list too.

They spent a lot of their draft capital in bringing Mitchell, O'Meara and Wingard in, but basically getting 1 hit a year isn't enough to sustain a list of 22. A bit like us in those midrange picks they've taken haven't panned out in their best 22.

2013
Pick 24 - Billy Hartung - Delisted and now in the SANFL
Pick 38 - Dayle Gartlett - Didn't play a game
Pick 56 - James Sicily - Big tick

2014
Pick 19 - Traded for Jono O'Rourke - Big fail
Pick 31 - Daniel Howe - Played some, but not consistent 22
Pick 49 - Teia Miles - Only played 2 games
Pick 50 - Marc Pittonet - Now Carltons ruck

2015
Pick 19 - Ryan Burton - Traded for Wingard
Pick 22 - Kieran Lovell - Only played 2 games
Pick 44 - Blake Hardwick - Best 22, but roleplayer at best

2016
Pick 10 and 2017 2nd rounder - Traded for Jaeger O'Meara
Pick 14 - Traded for Tim Mitchell
Pick 74 - Harry Morrison - Not consistent best 22
Pick 76 - Mitch Lewis - Not consistent best 22

2017
Pick 33 - Traded for Jarman Impey - Currently injured
Pick 45 - James Worpel - Big tick there
Pick 67 - Dylan Moore - Only played 7 games
Pick 71 - Jackson Ross - Hasn't played

2018
Pick 15, pick 35, 2019 4th rounder and Ryan Burton - Traded for Chad Wingard
2019 3rd rounder - Traded for Jack Scrimshaw - Injured and in/out of best 22
2019 4th rounder - Traded for Tom Scully - Good enough
Pick 52 - Jacob Koschitzke - Hasn't played a game
Pick 63 - Matthew Walker - Hasn't played a game

O'Meara and Mitchell trades don't need much defending, but 2014 was mostly a fail and they pretty much wiped out 2015 and 2018 drafts to get Chad Wingard, Jack Scrimshaw and Tom Scully in.

So 6 drafts and about 7 players to show for it.

Very ordinary piece of work by Hawthorn.

Even the best make mistakes.

Clearly a poke at Bunji, and also one of his best mates is the coach.
