Natural selection

Port, GWS, Gold Coast, Carlton, Melbourne, Bulldogs, St Kilda and NM can all go

Coll Ess Rich Haw Geel

10 team competition, half in Victoria, half interstate.

Port should look at relocating to China.

Wuhan is cheap at this time of the year to live.

Imagine the massive improvement to skills and quality with 8 teams removed.

However, Carlton's too big to fold so they'd stay and I'd introduce a Tasmania team while we're at it, for 12 teams.

Tasmania cant sustain a team financially yet at this stage, which is their main weakness in terms of entering the AFL. (well before all of this)

Brisbane are one of the broke ones
I think Port will survive too..... just. But gone are the huge hhandouts they get.

The AFL will want a Queensland presence and will go back to 1 team same in Sydney.

It might get rationalised, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see an 18 team league at re-start.
Nothing will change. All the players will stay where they are. I think after May/June the virus will be completely controlled in Australia. Other parts of the world not so much. The hysteria in Australia is quite unfounded. As I have heard quite a lot of professional commentary that there is no exponential case growth virtually no community transmission. The increasing number of cases in Australia is wholly fueled by returning travelers still coming home.

Is there a celebrity endorsed Gofundme page raising funds to find a cure I can donate to.

did you forget the rolly eyes. Surely this is sarcasm? “Celebrity endorsed”🤣

Oh dear god. You are in for a nasty shock.

There is hope that you are correct, but as Vader has pointed out, we’re really not testing anyone that doesn’t have the necessary links. That will change soon, new 15 minute test approved and about to arrive and a change to testing policy in the wind. Fingers crossed.

They ABSOLUTELY WON'T skip the normal safety protocols and neither should they.

They need to make sure they save lives, not cost them.

One word: Thalidomide

and that is WHY they may skip certain steps. If we hit capacity particularly in our ICU area, then the ethical decision may be to take a risk on the drug rather than have people die from lack of access to treatment.

But what do I know, I only sit on the Covid19 planning cell of my hospital (in a non medical capacity). Not like all you armchair experts.

we have exponential growth (our number of infections is doubling about every 2.5 days currently)

we have community transmission

stop listening to 'experts' and start listening to experts. So stop listening to politicians and radio shock jocks and start listening to scientists and doctors.

not in every state and not yet in large numbers in comparison to o/s cases. Hopefully we don’t see an explosion when these 500k new test kits arrive and the testing policy changes.

Well Im in pharma research, so have some cred here too. Can't see it happening, but we'll see

Then you should know that the fact the drugs have been approved for other uses (Malaria for example) in humans takes us a big step closer.

Testing criteria are pretty strict at the moment, people are getting turned away if they don't already have significant flu like symptoms.

Combine that with the research coming out about the percentage of people who catch this thing and are asymptomatic.. we've got a lot more out there than the numbers show currently.

I’m a practising optimist as you know. Between Missus and I, we know of only 1 person who is presently crook in any way at all. Your experience among the people that you know may be different, but apart from these confirmed cases, I’m not aware of any anecdotal evidence suggesting that there’s uncounted enormous numbers of ill people across the country. Of course, all the people I know are in SA and NT, neither state having recorded a confirmed community transmission yet.

Article this morning that looks like it might help capture the asymptotic carriers. Just need some kind of smell test. Is there a smell test similar to how we can easily test our eyes and ears?
