Vlad wanted the players to get off, isolate a couple of staffers, need an unfettered 18 team comp, ran his sham investigation that cleared the players. Even after WADA make it clear the players were at fault, she still ran with Vlad’s agenda. Why? Because she was scratching his back so he would return the favour. Rendell before that.

It's amazing to me how many journalists still take the line that the Essendon players are innocent victims and not convicted drug cheats.

The job of a journalist is to serve the readers and I don't think there are very many non-Essendon fans that genuinely believe the players are not drug cheats

2 weeks on and this already looks ridiculous. If we had any fine or draft suspension, it would have been an massive injustice so much the beefed up story . We should really appeal Ben Harts suspension on the grounds of fairness. Forget the hatred of him, justice has to be seen .

I would expect some sort or extra facilities and amenities in my room or easy to get at if I was forced by work to live away from home for a long time. The room apparently are just plain vacation accommodation with the minimal extras. I wouldn't think cooking would be allowed in them though.

If we appeal is there a risk that the penalty is increased? If there is then we should absolutely appeal.

Ridiculous comments and tone here from Wilson. All of those requests are very reasonable for professional athletes having to live away from home in compromised accomodation. What they eat obviously has a huge impact on their performance.

Classic Victorian centric media criticising “interstate” sides for some pretty basic requests while living away in hubs, at the same time glossing over the fact that Melbourne based teams are happily getting along with no inconvenience.

The way she and many others report on stories depends on which club is involved. Entirely predictable and transparent.

MCG is looking after its tenant clubs (Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne) by giving them between $150-200,000 match day payments for each home game they play at the MCG. Apparently it's a "goodwill gesture" following the "spirit of the long-term deal between the AFL and MCG, which will see the Grand Final being played there till 2057". Won't be holding our breath that the SMA will give Port and us the same gesture.
