I think a starting midfield of AB, Cerra and Fyfe is actually pretty well rounded as well.

Could probably use a bit more speed but AB is faster than people give him credit for
AB/Cerra/Acres and Fyfe. That ll go alright. The next gen midfield brigade.
I'm happy to allow Mundy forward and do that role. Even when he touches it, turns to gold (goals). We relied way too much on a 34 year old midfield who shouldn't be having that workload. But he did alright.
We have a surplus of bodies inside that has to be figured out. Conca is the mainstay tbh. Without him, Fyfe struggled. Mature of the 3 youngsters, as I'm sure Brayshaw, Cerra will still be lightweight inside. One of them will have to sacrifice a bit of their game unfortuantely to play in the 22.

Yeah Mundy needs to get out of there now, he can run through there when we get an injury so we dont lose to much, otherwise needs to play back or forward.

Centre rotations to be Fyfe/AB/Cerra/Conca/Acres/Walters/Blakely as first choice I think.

Mundy can run through there should we need.

I think that's enough. Injuries to give time to pick 7/10 and Valente

It's not well rounded it's inexperienced and untested. Acre and Blakely need to step up before those two (AB was a bonus last season, our midfield lived and died by mundy/fyfe and Walters though.)

Playstyle was more what I meant. Definitely inexperienced and untested and would be a year or two away from being a legit top tier midfield

Tucker? Fyfe had big wraps for him in his Brownlow speech (along with Conca).

Knew I was forgetting someone.

We really need 2/3 out of Cerra/AB/Tucker/Blakely/7/10/Valente to step up and become A grade midfielders, at the moment, I'd say only AB and Cerra have that ability but if they can do that and Tucker/Blakely can be solid b-graders we can build something

Lyon Low, our secret training reporter has slipped me a crumb from the session today to share with you all.

Training report #1

Today's training session consisted of a long warm up as per usual and players then broke away to do a number of stoppage drills at a medium intensity.

Overall the kicking skills varied from player to player. The small group of senior players ala Walters and Lobb who joined were pin point in trajectory. They weight the ball perfectly for players to lead into space.

Walters fitness is as good as I've seen from him and is the perfect example of a senior leader.

Kicking skills of a number of younger players really let themselves down however it's early days and as players fitness improve often so so skills and confidence.

Tom North was being followed by a trainer in a light tagging role and some players may have been instructed to carry this out as well. This may be designed to get him to lift his execution under pressure. I haven't noticed this before.

JLo had the players focus on hitting leading targets inside the fifty running through half forward. Tobe Watson was a stand out. I do think Freo have lacked polish going inside fifty in recent years and can see a greater emphasis in this skill.

Drills and stoppage work looks different under JLo. Ross was more of a kick the ball over the mark or sideways coach. JLo has the players looking more 45 deg like many other AFL clubs. This will naturally result in a different style of play.

The young squad look fit and ready for a big preseason. I can't see any player who hasn't come back in top shape.

Unfortunately Luke Valente is only doing run throughs. He has been receiving physio work during each session. I hope the club can fix his running issues. It may just ve a conservative approach.

Kind regards

A couple of the blokes I was chatting to at training saw Pearce shirtless, one lady that was there said how fit he was looking and the bloke was like "Now I'm not even gay but come on the guy is ******* gorgeous" cracked me up let's just say
I laugh at myself sometimes too

It has taken countless weeks of intensive research involving a myriad of customer satisfaction surveys, market segmentation studies, longitudinal analysis, contracting dozens of mystery shoppers and endless product testing but I think I have the answer all Freo fans/watchers have been longing for...

A potential alternative to Galati and Sons and their vanilla slice at the Freo markets...

[pauses to build suspense]

I bring you... Portuguese Delights!

So go enjoy and be merry fellow training watchers. May your sight see players clearly in the distance whilst your bellies remain full.

Disclaimer: May have been exaggerated for dramatic effect. I just did a Google search.

edit - I have some serious questions for Unique Name who appears to have visited this place a year ago, given it a 5 star rating and yet kept it a secret from us all!!!
Yup, can support this - so can my waistline...

Fremantle young gun Adam Cerra says he is grateful for the “development” he had put into him under coach Ross Lyon by playing him as a defender, even though his eventual goal is to move into the midfield.
Cerra, who has already played 41 AFL games and just turned 20 last month, said the different requirements of playing as a defender had rounded out his game.
“I am hoping to crack into the midfield. It is what I have been trying to do in the last couple of years but I have had great opportunities in all positions - helping to develop my game and I feel like I have become a better player out of doing that. I will definitely be training with the midfield and hopefully get a crack in that position this year,” he said.
“It definitely gives you a great understanding of what the defence can be under when the midfield is not doing their job. The defensive part of the game is applicable all over the ground so even when you are a midfielder there are times when you need to be defending and those traits that you learn come in handy when you are playing midfield and forward.”

Cerra said he had “received some indication” from new Dockers coach Justin Longmuir that he’s set to earn an increased stint in the middle next season.
Cerra is hopeful of a full pre-season ahead of the 2020 season after his first two summers in the AFL were significantly affected by injury.
‘My first pre-season I came in post shoulder surgery and then last pre-season I came in with a calf strain so I didn’t really get to train with the main group until after Christmas,” he said.
“Touch wood this pre-season I have had no injuries and have trained all through the off-season and have felt like I have had a really good start to the pre-season.”
He said there had been a shift in focus towards skill drills - the players were doing more on field drills and extra skill drills in the gymnasium - and working more on skills and doing fitness work while at it made it easier to get through training sessions.
“There has definitely been a big change. A lot of changes to our structure and how we are training and what we are doing,” he said.

“All of us love football and love playing it so when you are getting your running in in football drills it feels a lot easier and it feels like you are getting through it much better. It feels like there is a really good vibe around the club and everyone is really enjoying the new structure.”
Cerra aims to add two kilograms to his frame each off-season and believes he will be physically ready to play midfield next year.
“My training and my focuses are directed more towards one day being a midfielder. I have to keep working on that and my craft,” he said.
