Hmmm. Sicily it is then
I’m treating him like any other upgrade if he looks like he’s going to be top 6-8 defender. $480k so not that cheap anyway so can’t see see him being out of reach if he goes well.I'm a bit confused so your saving cash at the start to trade him in if he goes good or will be a downgrade if a premo spuds it?
700k+ = 1That's a great way to do it. Shows much more than the standard premo-mid-rookie mix.
For me it's currently ….
700k+ = 1
600-699k = 4
500-599k = 3
400-499k = 6
300-399k = 0
200-299k = 2
100 - 199k = 14
Cant see any of those 4 being top 10 by seasons end. Youll be missing out on the big points from Whitfield weekly.I'll probably have to drop one of them to upgrade to more expensive rookies based on what we've got available. Long term I'll add Dusty and Whitfield. I think the cheaper guys playing midfield like Petracca, Steven, Wingard and Brayshaw will end up top 10 forwards
cant be worrying about bye rounds from now imho. too far away and so much changes between now and then..I haven't posted a recent team because it keeps changing by the hour. I did have Dawson back and Hill forward, thinking I could move them around to best fill needs … especially at bye time. Then I realised they both had the same bye so that wouldn't work. Not only that but they have the same round 13 bye as Gawndy, Oliver, Petracca, Docherty, Cripps, Martin, Fyfe, Pickett and some other favoured rookies. I don't have all those players, but enough to leave me with just 15 round 13 starters.
So …. 3 major changes and a rejigging of the rookies has left me with 21 round 12 starters, 20 round 13 starters and 19 round 14 starters which is close to perfect. I think the 3 major changes actually strengthened my team overall too. Martin>Whitfield, Oliver>Neale, Dawson<Steven (via Hill to defence).
I won't post the new team though … no doubt it will all have changed by the time I go to bed.
Bloody hell! Two more weeks of this self doubt, second guessing and mental turmoil
this post has made me work on my team for the past hourADELAIDE

I'd rather any 2 of Petracca, Brayshaw, Wingard and Steven over Whitfield/a shit forward rookieCant see any of those 4 being top 10 by seasons end. Youll be missing out on the big points from Whitfield weekly.
Agreed you shouldn't let the byes divert you too much from having the strongest possible starting team, but there are always 50/50 decisions to be made and they are an opportunity to ensure no bye round is completely out of balance …. as my round 13 was.cant be worrying about bye rounds from now imho. too far away and so much changes between now and then..
im up to version #230. i take screenshots every time and i actually counted not that long ago. sad. yes. i know.
2 or 3 trades and that completely swings out. i honestly would not put one thought behind it. makes sense with the premiums maybe. but even by then cows have been slaughtered and its changed again.Agreed you shouldn't let the byes divert you too much from having the strongest possible starting team, but there are always 50/50 decisions to be made and they are an opportunity to ensure no bye round is completely out of balance …. as my round 13 was.
see this is what i meant by the byes influencing your decisions. if they're good enough or have value then put them in regardlessI’m treating him like any other upgrade if he looks like he’s going to be top 6-8 defender. $480k so not that cheap anyway so can’t see see him being out of reach if he goes well.
I think Roberton is more of a need at his price and I don’t think you can run both of them with that bye. If you do you need a hell of a lot of luck and things to line up to avoid a donut.
Houston is also in a lot of teams so this is a chance to do something different from the pack as well.
So every forward rookie is shit this year? I am willing to bet there will be forward rookies that will carve out some reasonable scores. So while whitfield is racking up 120s your forward 4 will be averaging about 75 at best.I'd rather any 2 of Petracca, Brayshaw, Wingard and Steven over Whitfield/a shit forward rookie
All of those those forwards will easily go 90+ and any can go 100+ as long as their roles don’t changeSo every forward rookie is shit this year? I am willing to bet there will be forward rookies that will carve out some reasonable scores. So while whitfield is racking up 120s your forward 4 will be averaging about 75 at best.
I made up a large amount of places over the byes last year by planning for them for the first time. I averaged 2000 across them. I entered them ranked outside 3000 and left them inside the top 400.see this is what i meant by the byes influencing your decisions. if they're good enough or have value then put them in regardless
Yep, picked who I like and have randomly ended up with end 14 as my worst bye round. Which should be easy to rectify through the byes.see this is what i meant by the byes influencing your decisions. if they're good enough or have value then put them in regardless
I'm so happy that you gained all that ground over the byes .....I made up a large amount of places over the byes last year by planning for them for the first time. I averaged 2000 across them. I entered them ranked outside 3000 and left them inside the top 400.
There aren’t many prospective trade ins from the Saints or Port after that bye but I’d like to take the opportunity that early bye presents. Houston is the obvious one, Rozee possibly. Choosing to not start Houston, start another premium in his place, potentially upgrade to him if he is a premium a week earlier than others Without worrying about him missing a bye, and trade hard through the normal byes should get me one if not 2 extra premiums over the byes from the majority.
Where's Judd_Magic when you need him? Surely he's the only responsible authority that can answer this.Would Houston be a trade out - trade in propect ? ......hopefully he makes money to the byes, upgrade him & trade him in again .....realistic ?
Sadly missing ..... I'm sure Here2tellyouwhy will carry on his legacy & make JM proudWhere's Judd_Magic when you need him? Surely he's the only responsible authority that can answer this.
