Good age so would fit the team but hasnt lived up to expectations yet. What would he be worth?

I feel like people criminally under rate Duursma for what he adds to the team.

His defensive running and overhead marking in the age of zones and presses is like having an extra player out there.

I definitely would not want Polec back at the club. The club is moving forward not backwards, Jared was given an opportunity to stay and he chose to go to the Roos. I am sure he is looking back at his decision at this point of the season and considering the what if’s but that is not Port’s problem. Port won that trade hands down and will benefit from it for years to come.

Polec is sort of a different situation that I can understand. In context, North offered superstar money to a non B&F or AA player. That's just insanity.

That money that the North and everyone else memed as the War Chest was meant for Dustin Martin or Nat Fyfe, when they couldn't lure them they just chucked it at Polec instead.

That amount of money is just way too good to pass up for the average AFL player which is what Polec is.

Eh, you can never have too many elite kicks in the squad. Our issue is still forward efficiency, Polec in addition to the current squad would be tremendous.

Agree with this TBH. On talent alone I'd have Polec back in a second, but at a certain point a club standing up for itself and not being a pushover overrides talent. See for example the Nick Stevens trade.

No one at the club blames Polec for leaving given the money he was offered.

But he no longer fits a need, unless we could turn him into a burst clearance player. Even then, NM would have to pay the difference between what we offered him and what they pay him plus $100k for his diminished value.
