What big odds 3 vote getters got up?

Nankervis Rd 5 $21, think it started at $51

Just checked out of curiosity, and the coaches awards for that game are as follows:
7 Toby Nankervis (RICH)
5 Jack Graham (RICH)
5 Shane Edwards (RICH)
4 Jack Riewoldt (RICH)
4 Dustin Martin (RICH)
3 Shai Bolton (RICH)
2 Trent Cotchin (RICH)

Kudos to anyone who got on at $21 or $51, as there was a real chance there.

Umps shouldn’t be awarding votes, they have too much to focus on during the game rather than look at players and see who is performing well. Needs to be an outside panel who can actually watch the game and see how it plays out rather than be on ground level deciding if it’s holding the ball or not.

Up a bit over 3k but shattered. Macrae Miller JKelly…gonna be a big review to see where I can improve. I mean if the umpires gave macrae 1 vote in round 6 when he should have got 2-3 I’d be cheering.
Ohhhh man I just realised about this game, wtfffffff!!!!!! Macrae was easily the best player on the ground🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ How do you have 40 touches and kick 1.1 and not get a vote?

Sam Draper 3 votes Rounds 1 - $34

What an absolute rort, 10 touches, 1 goal, 24 hitouts
when you have a count that is sponsored by Sportsbet, are we any less surprised?

It didnt affect me personally...........but he wasn't even quoted on Sportsbet.

In a realistic world his price for BOG should have been around 300/1

Mitchell started favourite at $1.22 at Sportsbet.

That was one of the biggest BS 3 votes ive ever seen. It’s just another reminder of what umpires are looking for.

Big bullocking players, contested beasts.

I know every year we say, have to remember this player polled well, have to remember that player polled well but in reality their is a group of the top most well known players that can poll out of their ass. Some of the votes for bont and Ollie wines were such bullshit.

For instance Brayshaw who polled great last year, was ok this year. Macrae has polled decent for years, polled like shit this year. It really is such a raffle when you have different umpires (and combinations of umpires) adjudicating different games. Trends can be broken so easily. Except the those really well known experienced top group I.e. Mitchell, Franklin, bontempelli, boak, fyfe etc

Might put on a few bets on SB for next year. Maybe good for cash outs but long time to wait.

Will Day if he can get his body right kid will be a star $501
Sean Darcy breakout year, giant and stands out $501
Karl Amon $501
Jordan Dawson $501
Changkuoth Jiath $501
Caleb Serong kid will be a star $251
Jacob Hopper $151 we saw what happened this year
Andrew Brayshaw $101
Tim Taranto $81 Huge second half to year
Jarryd Lyons $81 Huge poller this year

But they’ll probably just give it to their love child Bontempelli

I didn't have a bet that round but even the players for the game reacted to it badly ahah

It has to be the worst 3 votes ever given

Hawks came back from 6 goals down to win by a point

McGrath - 33 disposals, 11 tackles, 1 goal, 142 Fantasy
Merrett - 31 disposals, 111 Fantasy
Mitchell - 39 disposals, 106 Fantasy
Draper - 10 disposals, 24 hitouts, 1 goal, 78 Fantasy (17th ranked on ground)

Brownlow night always seems to be an "almost" successful betting night for me.

Had a 10 leg multi on the teams incl amon (without wines/boak), lyons, smith (without bont/macrae), parish plus all the favs to top up...

Josh Kelly sunk me.. 11 votes!? Taranto and Hopper 15!? Ugh.

Only a $30 bet but 18-1 would've been nice.

Should have gone Cunnington instead in hindsight.

Yep this is what happens to me in about 3 multis. Can’t understand how it halves the pay out

Yep.. for every tie in every leg it will halve the payout.
It's an absolute joke and has stung me in previous years.

Eg if you had a $1.20 leg in there and they actually tie with someone, the "winning" factor of that leg is actually $0.60 ie it is losing you money.

It really should only halve the winnings, ie becomes a ~$1.10 leg. But thats not how it works in the gambling world.

Huge shout out to the regular posters on this forum. Love having a sounding board and a range of opinions.

Personally, a disappointing night with Steele letting me down. Seems the umps like to mix it up. Last year I was super skeptical about Steele polling well as he is such a defensive first midfielder but overall the umps didn't miss him. In fact, they gifted him a 3 and a 2 in 2020 where he didn't deserve it. Quite a reversal on that polling form with Steele hitting his lower limit on a night where all the fancies were hitting their higher limits.

Overall, the Wines @ $75 and Gawn top 20 and Boak top 10 in many multi's carried me to a moderate profit, but doesn't feel as good with the potential profit on Steele being pretty damn high.

Looking to next year, the initial value pick definitely seem to be Hopper. Quite a few on here were bullish about Hopper top 20 so good to see you should get some collect there. If anyone is going to be the next Dangerfield it's Jacob Hopper.

Nah it shouldn't work like that, the bet hasn't actually won its still a half loss as well so in plenty of cases it should be losing money

Yes, but when you're combining multis and your odds of 20-1 become 10-1 due to a technicality... its a bit rough.
ie if you skipped the leg entirely, you'd get paid more than if you had it and it succeeded but in a tie with someone else.
Steel finishing top 5 but tie with someone else is a perfect example. He DID finish top 5..

Seems illogical to me. If nothing else it should just delete the leg from the earnings?
