Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

What’s really in that for North?

They’re not going to give up Pick 1 unless they get overs, like Pick 5, 21 and a future 1st.

Yeah, fair point.

I think North are building really well with their midfield, and even forward to a degree, but their backline needs some work. They would have to be super high on Gibcus in this scenario. Move back to get him and improve their next pick considerably.

All in all, I highly doubt they rate Gibcus high enough to do it. And Horne might even become the best of their young mids.

It's a shame their isn't any, available, young key position talents at the pointy end of the draft this year that could push Horne-Francis our Callaghan out to our first pick.

Have read plenty of posts pondering the value of TOM, Worps, JOM etc, but I'm surprised Sicily's name hasn't been raised more (apologies if I have missed a page or 2 and a BF consensus has already been reached).

The guy is obviously a gun interceptor, and I can think of a few teams he would slot into perfectly.
Could we shop him to Brisbane, a team that likes to go long and quick out of the back half and is trying to close the deal on a Premiership? Or a Carlton? We could pay some of the wages to sweeten the deal.

As much as I like Sicily, we have such a surplus of half-backs; with DGB, Scrimshaw and CJ all natural interceptors we would be expecting to play for the next 5-10 years.

Perhaps the injury comeback rules him out (or devalues him too much), but I would have thought by the time 2022 rolls around, he will have had a long, conservative recovery.

FWIW, I'm not expecting anyone to be traded in '21 (or at least, not for anything more than steak knives), but of all the likely candidates with value, Sicily is my pick. Anyone else had that thought?

Seeing a West Coast fan in the Jarrod Brander thread suggesting that we're a favourite to acquire the athletic Eagle.

Currently without a deal for 2022. If he wants to come to us could it be for absolutely nothing as a delisted free agent? Or do we pull out the beautiful future 4th to at least give them something in return?

He's been out of the game 15 or more months, close enough to 2 years by the time he plays again.

Trade value would be the lowest possible time. He's FA at the end of next year - if we lost him then, we'd get a pick immediately after our 1st as compo, which is likely more than we'd get this year period.

Future 4th, just for the legacy.

Wondering if there are any WAFL watchers in here that might have an idea how he went there this season?

Worpel has a lot of upside IMO. I would be very surprised to see him on the trade table. I think we will be pretty quiet this year unless we get some serious money-ball offers. We have a healthy position in the draft and may be able to upgrade.

Like R&L said, role-players & draft picks will be sweet.

I think we could do some good work in the DFA / role player market.

I dont have a strong opinion on him either way. But at least he seems to be trending in the right direction. And for someone who is 195cm you would think they'd take a little longer to develop.

Would not be agaisnt giving this guy a shot considering the cost wouldn't be high at all.

Would be happy to have this guy on our list, given how little he will cost.
Listened to some podcast early in the year - can't remember which one - but it had someone with some West Coast intel who said they believed in his talent (and his attributes) but had shunted him onto a wing as there was no way into the forward line (Kennedy, Darling, Allen) and the backline was also well stocked. A year on, it is clear he is not a wingman, but he could yet be a good forward, or (more likely) a late developing key defender.

Watched this a couple of weeks ago when his name first came up. Reminds you of what the WC thought they were getting with that late first-rounder ...

They are going to have an unbelievable midfield in a few years time - Horne (18), Phillips (20), Thomas (21), LDU (22) and Simpkin (23).

I’d take Luke Dunston for free.

I'm not advocating for it, but weren't we into Brayden Sier?

He's officially done with Collingwood apparently.
