If you haven't realized last years scores need to be taken with a grain of salt then you need to delete your account.

Take 10 off everyone's average, and that's more like normal. Just about everyone who 'dominated' last year is going to drop in price somewhat.

Yep, 14 players managed 110ppg in 2019.
21 in 2020.
There were like 8 players going at 120s.
In 19 we had 5
18 we had 5
17 we had 1.

Some players will show a lot of improvement this year and still average less than they did in 2020.
:(
Bugga. Sounds like they're ALL overpriced. Not just Rowell and Shittrucca.

So everyone highlighted in that article? (Not Walsh)
Or everyone on their list?

:moustache:
Sounds like the entire list will play both inside midfield and forward :thumbsu:

I think the clue is Zac Williams. Everytime he's ever gone near an actual contest for the ball he's blown a gasket...and they are saying he'll play inside mid. Yeah riggghhhhttttt.

I'm just deleting Carlton fullstop. Never liked em much anyway :thumbsu:

He's mum and Dad must be prom queen and Prom king .
Two beautiful human's to make him...😀☝.

And no mention of Walsh.

Here's another article posted on the Carlton website today.

"He was well supported by Jack Silvagni and Sam Walsh, who both contributed three goals — Walsh largely as an inside midfielder."

Has Walsh suddenly become an inside mid? Iirc barely any wingmen have ever gone close to 110, Gaff being the closest with a couple of 105+ seasons. What’s the love for him about? Gun player, but no idea why you’d pick him, specially at that price. Anyone wanna shed some light on why he’s such hot property?

Looks like games could be very high scoring, McKay kicking 5, Silvagni and Walsh kicking 3, Williams kicking 2. Even a vfl fill-in kicked 5. Goal kicking mids could be the flavour of the month.

He is a wingman and can kick goals. He is an elite runner with an increase game and lower interchange bench in theory he should be racking more possession later the game goes on.

Look at his numbers in the 2nd half of the year, he was accumulating and kicking snags. He isn't an a pure wingman. He plays both outside and inside which was highlighted at the back end.

LOL I watched the vision I counted 2 tackles looked like typical Blues bruise free footy from both teams :$

Cheers for replying. Do we think he gets enough inside time to justify the price tag? The goals help, but his scores were inflated last season as they were for just about everyone who averaged 100. Fwiw, I also think people are reading too much into the interchange caps. AFL is an athlete’s game. Everyone’s more than fit enough to run out a game well. Being fitter than most isn’t gonna be that much of an advantage I don’t think. I’ll watch him in his preseason match and see how he goes tho, cos a 105+ average at that price is a no brainer pick.

So he's more like Mitch Duncan who is also not quite a SP

Both Walters and Fyfe to play abit more forward.
Cerra or Serong might be good PODS.

Heaps of potential breakout players mentioned, but not much love for Taranto. Nice progression of aves 66.5, 88, 102 from 2017-2019 before a regression to 84.5 last year after a shoulder injury. Now in his 5th season and 1'st and 2nd in his 2 time trials so in good condition coming in to season. There is no reason why his ceiling is 100-105. Attractively priced for what he has achieved previously and 3 contenders competing for his role have left GWS.
