Elliot Yeo is progressing slowly from a groin injury, he missed the Eagles final 7 H&A games in the 2020 season & the Elimination Final against Collingwood at Optus Stadium.

West Coast resumed training today, Yeo was running laps away from the main group & moving “OK” according to @FootyRhino.

It’s likely the Eagles will remain patient with Yeo, as a result he may miss one or even both 2021 pre-season games.

With 10 weeks remaining prior to the start of the H&A season West Coast are yet to provide a long term outlook for the start of the season for Yeo.

I've been saying this for weeks now folks.
Upgrade option if he can make it.

Josh Kelly come on down and into my team as my Mitchell replacement you campaigner. 😄
Merrett in a contract year? Treloar’s price is starting to look pretty attractive to me.
Putting a line through Mitchell also makes me more determined to keep Neale in my team despite being overpriced.

Man if Mitchell recovering from a shoulder reco scares you, why on earth would you go for Jelly... He's the most injury prone guy in the AFL. Hasn't played a full season for like 5 years.. Hasn't just missed 1-2 games either, it's always a block with a recurring injury. Suicide pick IMO!

As Northernsoul74 said above, Zerrett in a contract year should be getting way more love. Has only missed 2 H&A games in the same space that Jelly has missed 19. Puts up similar numbers too. Pretty solid starting pick for mine. Kind of boring, but solid. Kind of funny that Josh Kelly gets abbreviated to Jelly, is there a more apt nickname in SC?

I’ve just looked at Zerretts scores from last year and I didn’t realise how good a season he had. Anyone pinpoint why why the jump in the average eventuates or is it purely just down to scaling?

I was planning on Mitchell and Piggy/Petracca. Might just take both the dee's. Those two and Maxxxxxy hoover up most of the points for Melbourne.

Merritt could be a good POD though. He should be motivated and Essendons midfield isn't stacked so not much competition for points. He is a small chol'd campaigner at times though.

I've had the campaigner for the last 3 years and he's burnt me every single time.

Just wouldn't be right by not picking him again and getting more 3rd degree burns.

Kid can find the ball mate. Nearly as well as you :moustache:

I rate Constable but just can't see him getting much of an opportunity at the Cats.

He should have asked for a trade to the Bombers where they can use a tall inside mid.

What are people's thoughts on Dion Prestia?

At just 446k meatball seems like great value considering what a skilful player he is. I'm kinda surprised I'm not seeing his name mentioned alongside players like Taranto and Cunnington.

Ceiling and Durability concerns with Prestia as well as lack of upside. Cunnington is a fair comparison though scoring wise, however, apart from last season, Cunners has been quite durable over the years. Taranto isn't worth comparing as he's on different career trajectory to the other two and is only just starting to come into his prime. Plenty of upside with him as far as stepping up to the 110+ class.

Prestia is like most of the other Tigers where the game style dosen't suit Supercoach. There are only 2 players from the Tigers I would pick this year Jayden Short and Dustin Martin. Even the Rookies I think maybe Tom Dow and Ben Miller might be the only cheap ones to get a game.

Houli cooked or not?

Houli cooked or not?

Yes it's definately his last year and might only play 10 games this year even if fit. Jayden Short is the one the want kicking it off half back now so his role isn't as important. I really like Ben Miller a mature age 195cm and 95kg he is a beast and might play down back and release Balta up the ground a bit and also be the one to give Nankervis a hand in the ruck this year.

I’d be surprised if Houli only played that many games.
Houli is still a dangerous player and his presence may allow Short to have more freedom.

Im unaware if there is much of a differential though in Shorts scoring with or without Houli in side. This would provide more evidence than just my thoughts.

The Eagles trained as a full group for the first time on Monday with midfield gun Elliot Yeo joining them for a warm-up before splitting off to continue a separate running program.

Yeo remains on the mend after missing the last eight games of last season with lingering soreness from osteitis pubis.

Simpson wasn’t willing to put a timeline on Yeo’s return to the senior side, but it appears he's unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2021 season.

“He’s ticking the boxes. He’s advancing every week. We haven’t had a hiccup yet,” Simpson said.

“He’s on running duties at the moment, so the next phase for him will be change of direction (today). We’ll take that as it comes, but he’s still on track for an early return this season.

“I don’t think we can put a round on it (for Yeo’s return date) but he’ll be right when he’s right.

My predicted top 8 midfielders.

1: Oliver
2: Neale
3: Fyfe
4: Petracca
5: Macrae
6: Merrett
7: Bontempelli
8: Crouch
9: Cripps
10: Adams
