NFL 2021 NFL - Week 8

If the Vikings win anything more than another 3 games this season I'll be surprised - luckily the Lions and Bears are on the schedule but even then they might lose some of those.

The 2021 Vikings are a shitshow

Since 2014 the team has only done well in odd years under him……

This year is another odd season number wise and will see him cooked.

I'd be embarassed of that last drive if I was a player/administrator/fan of the Vikings.

Sorry, more embarassed than I otherwise would be being associated with that farce of an organisation. I'm actually embarassed to like a team thats in the same division....

It's good the week Jimmy G actually decided to QB that we are reminded of the bullet we dodged waiting for Cousins.

6 of 1 , half a dozen of the other. They are basically the same QB but Jimmy gets injured more.

In all seriousness, I just don't know where they're going as a franchise.

Cousins needs an all-world defense to succeed, cos they've given him plenty of weapons on offense and he still can't get it done. But they dismantled their D and started again a couple of years ago...

They are the very embodiment of your 'what is their identity' rants.

They thought they knew what they wanted to be, but changed their minds, and changed their minds again, and now they're in the middle of no mans land.

I think they're at the trade your good players for draft picks stage. Time to start again.

Yup - the Vikings need a full reboot - from the GM down.....

I knew this was going to be how the game would play out before it even started. Cousins is pathetic against teams with a winning record or teams with a semi decent defence.

Most of his wins have come against teams that are even more broken than the Vikings (Lions, Jags, etc etc).

Add to that an inability from the coaching staff to make anything like game winning decisions and this is what you get; pathetic performance.

The worst part is that Cousins is on the books for $45 million next year - guaranteed!

Sven Svenson. :tearsofjoy:

Sven Svenson. :tearsofjoy:
If that were Sven's real name, it'd be no different than any other man being named after his father.

In Scandi cultures, patronymic surnames (giving the child a surname based on their father's name) is, or at least was, very common (and I think is still the law in Iceland)

I only listened on the radio so didn't see the plays unfold but why the hell were they so scared to give the ball to Cook? It sounded like he started to heat up half way through the third before a penalty killed the drive and they barely went back to him. Why were they throwing screens to the FB or TE instead of him?

The Vikings are a deeply flawed team on offence Because of Kirk Cousins. They use the run to set up the pass and when the run is not working (usually because the DL is good) they have nothing in the pass game. Add to that a trait from Cousins that he won’t go downfield if a receiver is “covered” (even when you have some of the best contested catch wide receivers) and that is what you end up with; abandonment of the running game and a quarterback who won’t throw past the sticks.

Today was the embodiment of everything that has caused the Vikings to be mediocre with Cousins at QB, and Vikings management (GM and HC) have to take the blame. Zimmer hated Keenum because he took too many risks, even though that risk taking caused a 13-3 season. As a result, the GM went with game manager Kirk Cousins and the team has been doomed ever since. Zimmer’s insistence on a conservative game plan paired with Cousin’s inability to take risks has proven to be a recipe for middling play from the Vikings even though they’ve had a top 5 RB and two great WRs (Diggs/Thielen and Jefferson/Thielen) during his tenure at QB.

I don’t blame the OC, because the Vikings have had so many. They’ve all tried to implement schemes to make Cousins successful, but Cousins refuses to take risks, even when behind, and fails almost every time. He’s the classic middle of the road quarterback; 95% of the time time he’ll beat a bad team and 95% of the time he’ll lose to a good team.

I will be so happy when he is gone.

Not to mention couldn’t get out of bounds in the last drive. Just dismal.

Jets not being last is criminal. CLEAR #32

Lions dont deserve to be in the bottom 3
Raiders below Steelers my only query on Raiders position.
Besides the ones mentioned, I also think the Raiders are stiff to be below the Steelers and Pats and the Vikes should be above the sh*t shows that are the Broncos and Seahawks

Time to be petty and say I told y’all so. Steelers pretty good, Pats pretty good, Lions awful, Vikings awful. (Though I agree the Broncos didn’t do much to impress!)

I think Houston and Detroit will be my joint 33rd places this week. Yikes.

Henry in trouble

Dude was on track 450 carries this season... Talk about running him into the ground.

There's workhorse, then there's flogging a dead horse, and they're not on the good side of that equation. I'm surprised he lasted this long...

The old hindsight is 20/20 trick...

Reckon you'll find it in your heart to bring the Packers into the top 5 this week??

Not hindsight if I called it ahead of time!!
Cmon, these are power rankings mate, not what you think they're capable of rankings! Steelers are still shit, as are the Pats, I wouldn't be tooting my own horn just yet. And while the Jets got a W, no doubt they should've been considered the worst team in the league this time last week.

Think so. Will be tight but was so so impressed with GB.

I honestly don't give too much of a shit where exactly you put us, but I can guarantee you we're a better team than the ****in Cowboys.
