Rings are so overrated, look no further than Joe Namath getting his average arse in.

The HoF is voted on entirely by journalists/writers and so narrative is their primary consideration (hence how Namath and others got in). Without a good story for the numbers to back up, a player doesn't really have a chance.

Maybe for the next home game, the Panthers can place GM Scott Fitterer in stocks just outside the stadium entrance, so the fans can can chuck rotten tomatoes at him for effectively trading Bridgewater + 2nd/4th round draft picks for Darnold and committing $19 million to him for 2022

That should get them fired up for the game.
