Have to laugh at Tealsters thinking Ken will get sacked.

Two Prelims in a row is pretty successful. More likely to get an extension than sacked.

In any case AFL won't allow them to pay out 6 month of his salary.

He will remain their coach until at least 2023. And they really need to not make Finals for the next two seasons for them to not extend him.

He will never step down. This is his best paying job ever, he won't give it up.

Anyone going to comment on the amount of Bulldogs players & coach hugging the people in the crowd last night .....Coach was walking down after the game shaking hands everywhere .....players hugging everyone and anyone in the crowd

I thought this was absolutely forbidden as part of maintaining a player bubble against Covid ??? ......and no masks in the clubrooms after the match  .....an act of stupidity anyway by the AFL power brokers anyway

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has been left “totally disappointed” by his team’s dispirited 71-point preliminary final loss to the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval.

Coming in fresh off a week off, the Power were smashed in contested possessions (+23) in the opening term – the most dominant quarter ever tracked by Champion Data.

Got no problems with lack of masks singing the song but they should not have been mingling considering Vic's Covid outbreak.

Hopefully it will be OK, we've been lucky the last 3 weeks.
At least they are tested regularly so if one did have it they should know pretty quickly.

Testy wasn't he .....but still nothing on Scott's Presser Friday night .....does that man ever think he's coached poorly

GEEL go the GF in 2020, then add 3 x Club Champions from other clubs .....Cameron, Higgins, and Smith ..and get absolutely thumped
And they'll probably butter up again for another tilt next year ......GEEL are a club that have pandered to players desire for a flag, like no other club I've seen .......Dangerfield, Selwood, Cameron, and Smith do not want the club to do a rebuild whilst they're playing

Given the talent at GEEL .....Scott is easily the worse Coach in the AFL and way overrated
I don't think he's a terrific coach but at the end of the day when your list is that old it's fairly hard to win a premiership. I can't recall a side doing that in the modern era.
Generally a mix of youth and experience does it.
Geelongs youth have tended to be players that are good honest tryers which don't tend to work either.

At the start of this year GEEL were praised for playing a quick, playon at all cost gamestyle ......then they reverted back to norm

They lack zippy ground players ....yet chose to not choose Narkle and Jordan Clark, who would have added that zip .....and will probably lose both players & Constable during the trade period

No problems at all with it. Ridiculous rules by SA Health at the moment. Was in Perth on Friday and Saturday - no mask wearing anywhere other than airport.

They have been in Launceston/Hobart, Brisbane and Perth the last 3 weeks. No chance of COVID-19.

Nicola will now be breathing a sigh of relief - no more big crowds other than SANFL GF in a month then next after that is Test match.

I'm like a kid in a lolly shop trying to decide which thread to read first on the Port board.

You've got the reliable "Sack Hinkley 4" and a bonus one "2022 head coach"

The game review thread "Port vs an actual football team" should be a blast.

Theres a few about Kochie "David Koch and the vanillarisation of Port Adelaide" plus one that asks who to get rid of first "Koch or Ken"

One guy gets it "We were Port Adelaide - Facts, statistics and quotes" is a good read.

But I might start at page one of their gameday thread, i wonder when the penny dropped.

What a lovely lazy Sunday morning lying in bed catching up with some compelling reading.

I thought Wines, Boak and Gray was far too slow to challenge the speed of the Bogs' midfield.
On Port ......I'm getting sick of Rozee being prematurely hailed a star player ......he's a very low possession player, yes his touch's are all class, but if he only gets 10 possessions he's not going to influence many games

His body is yet to show me any resilience ......so calls on his standing in the game are typical media prematurely getting excited

Problem with Ports midfield, and it's been an issue all year ....Ollie Wines in particular starts games too slow ....he's a 2nd half player & that's not what's required in Finals

They haven’t been in Vic for weeks.

Geelong and Port are identical. Both are dads armies full of traded in players. Geelong have an over reliance on their 30yo plus players just like Port. Both teams are incapable of winning the premiership and while both will no doubt have another crack at it next year, Both will fail. Essendon, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Sydney will be in front of Port and Geelong next season. It wouldn't even surprise me if one of them fell off the cliff out of finals altogether. Geelong would be my bet.

So Jordan Dawson wants to cone back to Adelaide.

If he chooses Adelaide, they need to arrange trade otherwise he potential goes into the preseason draft - we have pick 4. The only issue is could he be picked up by North, GWS or Gold Coast before us.

The other issue is what would the Power offer? Pick 16?

Which is about right TBH.

I have a family friend named Emily.
You may have seen her around the club at the footy she has special needs. She hates Port with a passion just as much as she loves Crows.
She's around 40 now.
She rings me this morning and says simply,
'Port are shit eh?'
I said 'Yep, how good was that?'
She says,' What are you doing today?'
I said, ' Just going to enjoy Ports loss today'
She says, 'Yeah'
Then hangs up.

Pretty much sums it up doesn't it? Even she gets it!

Good grief - on one of their threads.

Trade Dixon to one of the Queensland clubs - “one of them will give back a late first round pick at least” 😳😳

On that basis, we could trade Walker to one of the Queensland clubs for a top 5 pick.

How ******* delusional are they?

You are forgetting Gold Coast are based in QLD, they are incompetent enough to do it.

Yes, couldn't agree more. But the AFL have been a bit of a joke and very selective about enforcing covid protocols.

I was getting sick of seeing Chris Fagan wearing his mask under his chin every week. I mean, what's the point? He may as well wear it around his arm. And he's not the only one (but one of the worst).

So called restrictions like leaving the first row of seats next to the boundary vacant. What's the point of that?

Sure these teams have been out of Victoria for awhile, but IMO with 2 Victorian teams heading to Perth for the Grand Final, the AFL is skating on very thin ice.
