To win a flag you have to everything to fall into place -

- finish top 2 with two home finals
- opponents play all their finals away from the home ground (Geelong, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs)
- opposition weakened by loss of key players (both Geelong and Bulldogs, Melbourne however are at full strength)
- no injuries and best 22 to select from player list

Port had this in both 2020 and 2021 and couldn’t achieve even getting into a grand final.

Why? Overrated player list and coach and a bloody soft draw

End of story.

PS : If only in 2017, we had a full strength side and Richmond weren’t at full strength.

Not only that Richmond were allowed to play Geelong who finished higher than them at the G rather than down at that shit hole in Geelong.

This will be interesting to see what happens.

This is pure speculation, but with Port having to borrow last year from the AFL for COVID that the AFL now control their purse strings to some degree.

I wouldn't be surprised if the AFL are forcing Port to cut back their spending so these high profiled assistants who were previously getting decent coin can no longer be afforded by them with the financial restrictions that the AFL has put in place.

The obvious sign will be if they replace him with someone relatively cheap.
That’s exactly what’s happening

Ricciuto is VERY balanced in his gameday commentary, and doesn't exactly get himself out there in the public light with media these days.

Kym Dillon??
KG???
FITZY?!

You can't honestly say any of these on on par with the campaigners i've mentioned. They're either plainly biased or deliberately inflammatory for clickbait, or both.

Tom Richardson

But he is freaking hilarious!!!

Someone needs to point out their record against top 4 teams over the last few years.
I believe its a 25% winning record, despite being regular prelimary finalists...

Not an issue for Kochie.

In his industry, tabloid journalism, being correct 25% of the time is quite high.

Apparently Schofield off to be an assistant at WC

Now that's a big loss, especially since his son's at the club.

Imagine being a club that's been around for "150 years" but isn't owned by the members. That the members have zero power over to change the board.

That's Port. 150 years of supposed history only to be under control of the AFL.

Same situation as the "franchise" "zero soul" Crows.

****ing lol
