You can afford ANY player as long as you are prepared to delay gratification for one freaking week.

Do one or maybe even two downgrades without an upgrade one week, and get yourself a Gawn or a Neale the week after.

This 'if you don't start with him you'll never get him' logic does my head in, it really does...

What did my head in was trying to get the Seagull in last season. He kept scoring big and dancing tantalisingly out of my reach. It was more than one freaking week that's for sure.

My x v y v z question is which Dog? Macca, Bont or Dunks.

My xyz answer is the KOTD king. He's such a different player to Treloar, I don't think his addition will have any impact on Bont's role at all. He averaged 125 over the last two-thirds of the season.

I got the seagull in just before league finals. I will maintain that if you found him unattainable, you weren't prepared to wait a week (and not do any upgrade that week, only downgrades), or give something up (e.g. maybe you needed to upgrade your D5 to him, rather than your D6). I added Lloyd and Gawn in the weeks leading up to the league finals without an issue

Cheers, that's who I was leaning towards. Yep, got the Gull in the end, giving up my D5 as you said. D was hard for me as I made dud picks and my one decent one Howe got hurt.

Cunnington & fwd Rookie(Cockatoo) vs Heppell & Ben Brown

Hately and Brown (No i don't mean heppell)

I already have Hately at M6. If Heppell is fit then there is No harm in picking him I would feel safer picking Heppell over Milera around the same price and he also has a career average of 95. Still only 28 and apart from last year hasn't missed many games in his career.

FWIW I am resigned to having either Milera or Heppell depending on where rookies come from.

I had them ranked Heppell > Milera > Hately

They have kept him on as captain for 2021 so I'm backing him in to play.
This is the only article I can find on him which was 3 weeks ago.

More a general one:
How many of those 220 - 320k types are people currently looking at?.So the Ziebell / Daniher / B Brown / Hately / Impey / Heppell types?
Obviously depends on rookies, but just wondered how enticed folks are by these ones.

I currently have 6 midpricers, Harmes, Preuss, Brown, Ziebell, Daniher, Impey. Hope that we get enough def rookies so I can drop Harmes or a good forward rookie instead of Impey.

I've currently got 12 premo's and 7 midpricers. Harmes/Heppell/Hately/Brown/Ziebell/Daniher/Impey.

From today's Bombers training session /match sim. Source Milanista28

"Heppell completed very nearly the whole session with the main group."

"Heppell also played largely back and to me looks right at home there. They again practiced the drill where two players were matched up on each other with the forward trying to get past the backman to mark a short pass from another player. Heppell I think does this better than anyone else, regularly being able to keep front position and take the mark himself which hardly anybody else has been able to do regularly as a defender in this drill."

I have four in that price range, but full disclosure I have another couple in the 320-380k range

Seems Heppell will play the pre season match vs Cats, we'll see his scoring potential then. Could be a Dylan Roberton type role pre his heart issues.

Got 2 atm.

Impey looks solid to me.
Traded Danger down to Stewart when I saw that danger has a bung calf and groins, put used the extra cash and got Daniher as a placeholder. A couple hours later he was playing ruck in the praccy so he's holding that spot until he breaks down or raises a redflag.
