Faced with the same thing this week and just going to go Lazzaro assuming he's named. Instant +$100k over Campbell. With a poor first sub score Lazzaro might be under the radar a little bit. once that sub score clears his L3 average the shackles might come off!

Yeah I like it - if he gets named for this week even with Cunnington back, you'd have to assume his JS is decent and his 70 in a flogging last week is promising.

Anyone considering Brad Crouch? Priced low 700's and has Essendon's under-manned midfield first up. High BE but is a pretty reliable scorer.

Based off the hit and miss style performances of the uber premos id be waiting a week on brouch. Same rule as a rookie. Let's wait and see how he goes first before doing anything crazy. He'll be the same price next week even if he tonnes.

Oh just no one should be bringing him in this week after a 28 as the sub.

Looks very tasty in 2 weeks though

Ahhh, got cha! Well Hardwick is locked and loaded, so Day being out for an extended time means that it becomes a little bit more solid for the next few weeks at least - til he plateaus on his BE/if he fails/I want to upgrade him to a premo :)

Players in new midfields always take a while to adjust, so I'll be giving him a game or two, like Neale4brownlow stated, before I jump on board. Was always in my plans, like Zilliams, but think I'm gonna be a little more cautious with these type of guys given their roles seem to be a bit different/their form seems a bit scratchy in the lead-in

Injuries to Zac Fisher and Martin hopefully means Dow stays for one more week. Just need him to make 10k cash and will have enough to do my planned upgrade. Assuming I don’t have another issue to fix which is a dangerous assumption

Back disc issues are no joke, and he could be out for months - see Hawkins when he had all his issues and it took him forever to get right. Dons know they're not playing finals this year, so it would be irresponsible for them to push him when they're gonna have a crap year anyway
At least I know who my outs are going to be this week (Heppell, Caldwell)
Now just gotta figure out the ins.

The other option I have is hold Gaff for 1 more week.
Tyson -> Walker
Caldwell -> Hind.

But is Gaff really worth of 1 more haha. I used this "1 more" approach with Angus Brayshaw a few years ago and rode all the way down to $500k..
Gaff will drop $50-$70k this week unless he can somehow seagull against Port (doubt it).

Currently doing Gaff -> Titch
Caldwell -> Hind.

And dump Tyson next week.
I really regret not trading Neale out for Titch last week. Held off because... reasons?
Back your gut because otherwise you'll just want to kick yourself later.

My thinking on 2 trades for this week caldwell>walker , bruhn>dunkley/brayshaw
tossing up between dunks and bray cant make up my mind.

Can’t decide between trading Clark or Young. Anybody got any thoughts on these two?

Clark JS shaky but could have a good game versus the hawks this week and don’t want to miss out on a potential 90+. On the other hand he could be dropped in the next few weeks...even this week which would be disaster given the Monday game.

At the same time I think Young can still chug along at 65-70 which means he’s got more cash to make over the next few weeks. Has the JS but lacks the ceiling of Clark.

Tough. I think Clark will force our hand and make us trade him in the next 1 or 2 weeks. If he's not dropped first.
Young like you say will keep ticking along and his job is secure (as far as I know).

If you have to trade one I guess its Clark.

But id be trying to make one more week to make sure of it.

Duncan has played 1/2 a game with no preseason not sure he is a certain in this week as much as Geelong fans would like him to be and Gola watched the VFL game with his arm in a sling on the weekend so doubt about him as well. Unless i missed an update from the club.
The AFL "in the mix article" had them both coming back in, so I assumed they were good to go.

I played around with similar trades and kept going back to trading Young. Thought Wilson really impacted those easy touches Young could of got. Feel like Young could go anywhere between 40-80. Obviously Clark has the higher ceiling but risker js as you say.

Do also feel a bench highmore could match Youngs scoring if Clark is dropped. I chase points I think.

With 4 rookies on ground at the moment (Powell, Gulden, Jordon, Warner) is it worth downgrading Caldwell to Lazzaro and adding Campbell to the field.

Just feels wrong adding more rookies to my team via trades, when your ultimate goal is to do the opposite. Would allow me to turn Heppell into anyone under 900k (obviously wouldn't spend that much)

I think that’s a great idea. Nothing wrong with bringing in cash generating players the first few rounds. Plus you can use the war chest to bring in a gun for a dud rookie. I plan to go dow to Mitchell/Brayshaw next week.

Should trade Idun to a playing rookie, but really wanna trade DGB/Clark. Please pick 1 of the following:

  1. Caldwell / JDG > Dunkley / Butters ($133K bank)
  2. Caldwell / Clarke > Butters (Dow dpp) / Hardwick ($206K bank)

Playing the BE game (Dunkley- 93, Clark-49, Butters-62, Hardwick-13, JDG-85), I think option 2 would be best. Pending on how the weekend plays out, may be able to JDG/Idun > Dunkley/Rookie next week.

Thoughts??

Option 1 easily

In the mix articles are usually guessing which players are a chance based on senior players that need to come back in and youngsters who have performed at VFL/SANFL etc levels and are rarely right unless it is just plain obvious.

Mitch is one of the better jurno's but i doubt we would know if we are prepared to play Gola and Duncan until after our late week training session.

I have a bit of a luxury trade available, any ideas? 1 trade left, $114k in the bank

Thinking H Jones to Cambell or Lazzaro? Would prefer to go for more points given I'm in the top 1,000 but can't think of anything else that would result in more points than what I have just suggested

That last point is an excellent one I hadn’t heard. Thanks mate
