Trades 2021 Round 4 Fantasy Trades

Got 3 players I'm not a fan of in De Goey, Clark & Stephenson, but I also have a potentially depleted bench.

Hard to tell what would be the better option in the long run.

De Goey < Hind
Clark < Cumming

Or

Hunter < Waterman
Dropped Rookie < Burgess/Robertson

Or a mix of Both

Hunter < Waterman
De Goey < Hind

Sideways trades aren't worth it. Every team's star mid will cop a tag at some point so no point trading based on it when there are other moves to make.

If you're cruising in the top 100, I would just swap in one of the newer rookies (Parks, Burgess, Waterman or Robertson if named) for one of your rookies who's tailing off in price rises.

Keep the cash gen going to start getting your mid-pricers and maxed-out rookies up to premos in the next few weeks.

Oliver is a keeper so you never trade those unless of injury especially this early with more pressing concerns. You cant trade due to a possible oconner tag cause he might tag petracca. Just dont Captain Oliver. My two cents anyway

Not if he has to stay in the team as a backup ruck/performs well in the role. He'll end up with one of the rarest DPP's too - RUC/DEF - which is huge when combined with say Briggs - DEF/FWD and Flynn - RUC. I'll be looking at getting Marshall in - RUC/FWD, in a couple of weeks so it completes that quadrangle so to speak

And McEvoy Def/Ruc

Just my thoughts, but I'm guessing that means Highmore, Kosi or Burgess have to be on the ground?
Be careful as Burgess only scored 22 after Witts went down, he scores most of his score playing as a fwd in the first half.

On dream stats it has Burgess on 30 at halftime, 60 at 3qtr and 77 final.

Witts went down early 3rd I think.

So of the 6 possible trades so far, how many have been forced for you?

I'm at 4 (Rowell, Caldwell, Young, Cogs) but I'm sure there are people out there who have all 6 when you consider Dangerthug, Witts, Heppell, etc).

And no, Patty Dow doesn't count.

I'm at 3. Caldwell, Witts (both this week) and Danger (pre R2) Have young but holding him.

I wouldn't make Oliver captain this week (like I did against GWS), but I wouldn't trade him either. De Boer has shown that he can be tagged out, but was it worth it? It isn't like GWS won or controlled the clearances as a result. Petracca should still be the first tagged at Melbourne because he does the damage.

I know trading a bloke coming off a 135 sounds mad, but Grundy has got very favourable matchups coming up.

Watching him monster Fullerton last week as a non owner was painful. He has Flynn, Wright and Burgess/Graham in 3 of his next 4.

He’s probably going to reach his BE this weekend and won’t be any cheaper, whereas Max still has a bit of money to lose.

I know trading a bloke coming off a 135 sounds mad, but Grundy has got very favourable matchups coming up.

Watching him monster Fullerton last week as a non owner was painful. He has Flynn, Wright and Burgess/Graham in 3 of his next 4.

He’s probably going to reach his BE this weekend and won’t be any cheaper, whereas Max still has a bit of money to lose.

It would be at the expense of bringing in a Burgess/Robertson for a non playing rookie.

So I will be losing that cash gen/extra trade for the one week.

However it would be with the aim of netting me some huge scores in the next month. (As well as it being hard to see him being any cheaper than he currently is).

You want both in your Team as soon as possible, so swapping them over is pretty much a waste of a trade. You'll have to burn another trade to get Max back in later.

That's the sort of trade you might look at in the last couple of weeks, but trading out a keeper in round 4 doesn't make sense to me, especially when the difference last week was only 17 points...

It might be worth throwing a flag in the Essendon players this week.
Swans haven't given up many fantasy tonnes. They must be one of the hardest to score against this year as the scoring from the other team looks miserable and drops off really quickly.
Their opponents:
Brissie - 0 tonnes;
Crows - 1 tonne (Tex);
Richmond - 0 tonnes.

I might leave this week as Ridley/Hind's final auditions to get into my side.

Between a rock and a hard place really this weekend.

I think my ideal trades are the double rookie grab by doing Young/Clark -> Burgess and Robertson.

Only issue is if it gets to Friday afternoon and Robertson isn't named, I've got 0 backup plan for my 2nd trade.

My next best trade would involve an Essendon player (Ridley/Hind/Waterman) who'll all be locked out by then.

I guess I could always revert to the "if you can't beat em join em" and trade Kmart to Tex.

Who's the best mid to target under 800k this week?

Mitchell seems the obvious choice but the other options include Treloar (is he 100% fit and gelling yet?) or Gaff (will Shuey out break him again?). If i was to scrape another 50k by picking up a 170ker (if named, RCD maybe) over Robertson i could get to anyone bar Macrae basically, so you're looking at Oliver (O'connor tag incoming), Steele (ewww a St Kilda player) or Guthrie (can I really trust Cam Guthrie?).
