Seriously tempted to Get Sloane in this week.

Options at the moment are

1. Get Sloane (has North this week) could be big
2. Get a cheaper player like Robertson or Burgess

Not worth it for $620k I don't think.
Has very little cash to make and only needs one of his 80-90's to curve that price and points output.
You'll need to spend a 2nd trade on him too at some point to upgrade him to a proper premo, or replace him when he gets rested or injured.

Whilst Hind is classed as a mid pricer atm, I believe like a few on here that he’s a keeper

Cumming probably still has 150k to make imo and will be an easy trade to say a Tom Stewart type in 4-5 weeks. If you trade in say Burgess over Cumming, it’s the same net trades so far, and Burgess will likely require a downgrade elsewhere to get up to a premo where Cumminh and change will get you a premium soon

Hind yes.
Cumming not sure.
The difference between a Burgess and a Cumming is $240k guaranteed cash injection somewhere else right now. Cumming costs money, and 'might' make some money over the next few weeks. He might not too. Any money earned is of no benefit till weeks down the track... and meanwhile others are making that coin for you anyway.

With that $240k difference I can turn Drew into Titchell next week.
or DeGoey into Danger; Sholl into Ridley etc etc.

BE 19 for Cumming. Will definitely go up. I guess the points are a factor too. Most see Burgess around a 60 average. Cumming looks an 80 odd, so 20 points extra a week there. It’s a tough one. Feel a lot safer with Cumminh on field than Burgess that’s for sure

Yeah Burgess at D6 looks nasty atm. But then he's only got to beat Young's average to justify his spot (50).
Every game he can post 50+ is a win. Only need a month out of him before I'm sure some others will arrive. Worrell for one will appear in the next few weeks.
I'll have $380k in the kitty for next week, so Kosi or Highmore -> Williams or Scrimshaw could be the immediate bandaid fix if needed to get Burgess to the bench.

Kosi or Highmore -> Burgess is a gross trade so trying to avoid it if it's possible.
But Kosi or Highmore -> Burgess next week and it costing money is even worse haha.

Defensive rooks are hardly lining up so I just need to lock down anyone who puts up their hand at this point.

Not knowing if Robertson is going be playing is a bit of a pain in the ass, as my preferred fallback is Hind.
Hold the line I guess?

Notice you mentioned Williams and Scrimshaw there. Cumming is outdoing both of those atm for a far cheaper price point. Is it possible this is Cummings breakout year? I just want to do whatever possible to not have to field a rookie in the backline as I already have Webster at D6 who’s not great. Don’t want him at D5 and a rookie at D6

So Martyn (mid) and Mansell (def), both $170k rooks named for Richmond.
Mansell only covering for McIntosh but Martyn and option as covering for Prestia who could be out for 4 weeks!!
I suspect Richmond will rotate games through Martyn, RalphSmith (should be very close) and RCD now so no guarantee for any of them.

Delayed team announcements making it very hard to pick rookies.

Cummings will probably go ok but I don't see him being more than an 80 at best. At worst 40-60 or dropped. I think he's a good pick if you need a D3-5 stepping stone. I've already got sholl/clark/fantasia/Markov so I can't afford to have another of their ilk or I'll never get them all out haha (Clark goes this week).

Scrim will smash Cummings. Only had 2 outings and 1 of them a sub score of 30 so his average is irrelevant atm.
Williams playing and scoring at his absolute worst and still going at 70. He'll be fine long term so I atleast see that as a single trade move with no need for a 2nd.

My thoughts (and those on the Brisbane board) are that he gets at least one game and maybe keeps his spot until he doesn't deserve it any more!!
Surely Fagan plays him over Robbo?

Fair call on the mid pricers down there, I will have 4 as well If you include Webster. Don’t want to overload with 5. Not trying to talk you into Cumming at all, I just feel he’s a good pick. I’m hoping to just hold him for 4 or so weeks, by which time Williams might be up and firing and I can pull the trigger for hopefully around 50-70k

It might be worth throwing a flag in the Essendon players this week.
Swans haven't given up many fantasy tonnes. They must be one of the hardest to score against this year as the scoring from the other team looks miserable and drops off really quickly.
Their opponents:
Brissie - 0 tonnes;
Crows - 1 tonne (Tex);
Richmond - 0 tonnes.

I might leave this week as Ridley/Hind's final auditions to get into my side.
You might be onto something, but Brisbane and Richmond have both been low Fantasy and possession teams in recent times so it could also be that.

Played a ripper game from my point of view. Lots to like. Reward could be huge but he comes at a warm best 22 risk I guess.

Ridley or Mills?

Am leaning Ridley because he seems to be a bit underpriced, but I also recognise that the Swans have been hard to score against. I guess Bowes is another option there too? But worried that as the Suns' season derails they'll try a few more things out that could impact his role?

Martyn debuting for Richmond.. 170k.

I he a better option than Robertson? I am not convinced.
One of my unbreakable rules this season... if I didn't highlight a rookie in preseason, I won't be touching them... at least not without a couple of games under their belt.

I had never heard of Martyn until I read your post :)

The guy who won it last year just wrote a great article on DT talk with some very sage advice. Reaffirmed much of my usual trading strategy which has been partly lost with all the mid priced madness of late.

- Mid pricers stuck on no man’s land are first priority to move on. De Goey, Clark etc
- Don’t bring in more mid pricers that will just require more trades later on - Cumming etc
- Trade in keepers & rooks almost exclusively
I read this and liked it. With the demise of Clark this week, the only midpricer left in my team is Fantasia.... unless you count Short as mid price.

Have up to 720k to bring in a defender for young. Who?
At the moment i'm leaning cumming, BE of 19 and should still make some cash while averaging 80ish
