Crisp or Treloar? Crisp's upcoming fixtures are pretty tasty

I wanted him this week because of that, but come next week, it's an absolute non-negotiable for me to get him in - given he has Suns and North for his next two. Treloar's are a lot harder with both the Tiges and Port over the following 3 weeks

Yeah with JDG and Clark my trade outs and Macrae coming in, I'm 12k short of Crisp this week. I'm tempted to trade Fantasia out instead of Clark, which would allow me to get Crisp in - and then have Kosi/Berry/Scott cover Clark if (as likely) he's not named. But not quite sure that it's worth that.

Anyone else starting to think about byes?
Ideally you want more players on the later byes and bring in rd 12 players after their bye, but premo's from GC, NM, PA, Haw, Geel and GWS are fairly thin.

My structure currently is 9,11 and 11 for players missing for each bye but already have 5-6 premo's missing in rd 13 so reallu don't want to bring in anymore big guns from those teams just yet!
Players like Ziebell, Titch, Danger and Bowes might be handy to leave out of your team until after rd 12.
Also holding players like Sholl, Gulden, Warner, Hind and Tex until after rd 12 will be very tempting to do!!

My strategy will be to try and keep the structure I have until the byes, or maybe one less in rd 12 and then if I have 30 players named I can have 22 each week to pick from!!
So my warning is, don't overload with players from round 12!!

It's uncanny how ridiculously alike our situations are, haha. I was exactly 12K short of Crisp myself, and I've wrestled with the same Fanta/Clark situation too.

Only way I could do it is if Clark is named (which is a distinct possibility given he was medsub on the weekend and Danger is a chance of missing with his ankle injury).

If he's not named, it's not worth trading out a higher scorer while you have 442K sitting on your bench in the event that Clark doesn't play - all for one player. Especially with all the carnage/injury hell that could occur over the course of the round, forcing you to leave him on your bench for another week while you patch up other areas.

Just not worth the hassle IMO

Yep exactly. We actually discussed this a bit on the previous couple of pages if you wanted some idea of where people are at with all of that :)

Off the top of my head, I reckon these guys are possible premos you could bring in following Round 12:

FWD

Danger
Ziebell
Jelly

MID

Titch
TT (if you don't have him)
Danger
Duncan
Guthrie
Whit
Jelly
Boak
Wines

DEF:

Houston
Ziebell
Bowes
Stewie
Whit

************

Probably only need 1 or 2 at most, so it's a decent group to pick from, given that guys like Titch, Whit, Stew, Ziebell, Jelly and Danger are all likely Top 6-8 types in their respective positions :)

So do you think it’s worth while holding Ridley as he’ll likely be a top 6 defender or should I trade him down to crisp of play a bit if DDP and get a nice underpriced premo in?

Haha I also am stuck with Ridley. But JDG + Clark are a bigger priority for me. I brought Ridley in for Daniel... ffs, so I think I'll just keep this time because I'm truly sick of getting burnt. I reckon just stick with him, because unlike Daniel he's guaranteed to average 100+

If I had Ridley I'd definetly be holding. He'll lose a bit of cash but everyone is going to want him in a couple weeks.

If I hold Ridley, I can get anyone from Redden down with a bit of DDP. Do you think redden is worth it, or should I go someone like parish/Heppell?

What? You told me last week Treloar was a must have! 😒

Valente being named for this week would be nice right about now.

Of course he still is! Regardless of draw, Dogs are still the highest scoring fantasy team in the comp, and their midfield has no challenger. Also means you always have the top scorer from the Dogs no matter who plays - Bont will be good from time to time, but is the one who won't get the freedom that the others will.

Was more a question of deciding who I would trade in first this week (Treloar had the Suns last week so that was absolutely the week to bring him in), as you can't have both at the same time, haha. If you were deciding this week between the two (now that there's no easy Suns game straight up) - then I'd be going Crisp.

For reference, I never thought Clark would be dropped so soon (was hoping I had at least another week), so now I need a def to replace him - hence Crisp over Treloar. However, I can't get either of them, so I have to settle for Brouch. If Clark somehow plays this week, then I'll drop Fanta instead and bring in Crisp down back.

Treloar would be my first midfield trade in if I had the cash, but De Goey screwed me on that - so I have to settle for that which I can afford, haha.

Long term, Treloar was the cheapest he was gonna get, was playing the Suns last week, and is someone you can lock in for the rest of the year without much fuss.

Not trying to bamboozle ya mate, we've all got enough coaches and idiot players doing that already :p

What happened to Worpel?

He was one we debated on walsh versus worpel... I was convinced worpel would be better.

He's a shadow of himself in this defensive tagging role he seems to be playing. Will it stick?

If its only temporary he might be a good get in a couple weeks for a rookie upgrade.

I've had him in a keeper league since he debuted so watch him pretty closely over the years.

I think it's simply he and Mitchell playing together in the same midfield is just too slow/not damaging enough, they're basically the same player, and it's Worpel who gets shunted into a different role.

Can't see him being a premo again unless something happens to Titchell (trading him in this week so please no), or he goes to another club.

That's just how I see it anyway

Wouldn’t stress about him playing us. We don’t tag. Last year we let Macrae rack up 37 in short quarters 😂
Tigs, what was the story with Shorty last week ? ......I'm making you personally responsible for his performance this week !

Ouch. I have him too :(

I feel like he may have been a mistake to be honest with Houli playing.

Having said that the ball barely went down there last week after quarter time.

Hopefully see an upswing next few weeks against better sides who will get the ball down their frequently.

That said, Short got 125 pts the week B4, with Houli playing ? ......that said, it didn't appear players were looking to get the ball into Shorts hands ......often taking on themselves to exit the ball from DEF

May have been part of RICH's tactic of getting speed on the ball in preference to hitting a target exiting DEF

Currently have 11 rookies under 300k with 2 of them dead (Fullarton & Evans) and 7 over 300k.

I'm really hoping that those 9 'playing rookies' can generate some decent cash otherwise I'm in shitters ditch trying to manage 10 upgrades by the end of the byes or close to it.
