Forget how they acquired it, Collingwood needs to go hard for pick 2 from GWS. Do a favourable deal with North Melbourne with the condition they don't bid on Daicos, bid for Darcy at 2, pick up Callaghan at 3 and Daicos at 4-5.

How would a Grundy for 2 + Coniglio look as a starting point? What would need to be added to make it a fair deal? Do Collingwood get a good deal considering how pick 2 fell into GWS hands? Would have to save Collingwood some cap space too.

Would mean Lynch would hopefully be retained to partner with Cameron in the ruck.

Of course it would depend on grundy's willingness to go, same as every other hypothetical. De Goey is the other name suggested in such hypothetical but I think grundy has more value and would be the bigger contract.

Coniglio's salary would be roughly the same as grundy's, maybe slightly less, so it wouldn't make a massive difference to either clubs salary cap.

Positive for the giants is they get possibly one of the final pieces of their team in exchange for a player that has been in and out of the side plus an early pick. They still have a mid first rounder to use.

Positive for Collingwood is another good midfielder to cover for the loss of Pendlebury and sidebottom in a year or 2 plus another outstanding young talent plus around 1000 points they don't have to find to cover Daicos.

I know it would be a huge move but I think Collingwood need to be bold. They don't take advantage of grundy's dominance at stoppages.

yep we have cap space and since we literally get clark and coniglio for a second round pick I'm more than willing to take on that contract

I worked on the theory that carlton would give up 6 and 25 for cerra so you would then use your own 27 plus the 25 from cerra for Clark and coniglio.
