I'm not really sure why we didn't just target billings and go without Fantasia.

Probably because ones a small forward and the other is a midfielder

Billings is a bit flakey but he’s better than Motlop and what 5 years younger.

As Macca said anything under 600k and it’s a yes please. Seems like we have plenty of cap space and Rocky retiring won’t hurt that.

If he comes at around the 550 mark i'd happilly pay that. If its more around the 700-750 mark i'd pass.

Restricted free agent so we'd need to make the compensation worth it for Stk to not match. Given that ~550k was enough for Motlop to get the cats a first round compo I'd say we're looking at 550-600k for a 3-4 year deal.

I'd be totally fine with that honestly. Right age bracket, high upside player that can play multiple roles. Costs us nothing but salary cap space. Easy win for mine.

Pass on Billings thanks, has never lived up to his high draft pick expectation.

Go hard on Petty, the kid can play, & would sure up our defensive stocks.

Grab another AFL quality mid if the deal is right

Ollie Lord is already showing small glimpses of his high end potential. I think we might have won big on this one.

Billing’s would be a good get to put on the wing to allow Amon for more on ball time. I think Amon would be that good speedy option
Billing’s I think in a good side would flourish but saints have been very inconsistent in the players they bring in and always changing there game style
As a free option he’d be perfect coz we have the money to spend

Go Guthrie and billing’s as freeagents sures up our midfield for a few years
Wines, drew, Guthrie, billings, Amon, butters, rozzee, Bergman, mead
Leave Houston as a half back to create run
Then go for amiss or 1 of the key forwards to sure up the forward line. Then next year look at key defender stocks
I’d be very happy with that

Think he was on a 2 year 800k deal at the Saints after a good season in 2019.

Had plantar fascia issues I think this year, with him being injury hampered and not at his best, it’s probs a good year to nab him

he is someone who can accumulate 20+ possessions and kick a couple of snags.

I must admit, I don't watch St Kilda games on account of the fact they suck, so I have a blind spot for their players. What are Billing's attributes, quick, high skilled, 50/55/60m kick, etc? Seems to have posted solid numbers his entire career and despite the claims of being an injury risk, seems to have barely missed any games over the past 4+ years. Also seems as though he was ready to explode after 2019 but hasn't quite come on which could be explained by covid/ movement due to the new recruits/ some of the niggles he has had. He doesn't get me excited like a Merrett or Guthrie, but still would be best 2022 with a chance of upside. By the sounds of it, very gettable as well.

I wondered why his output was uncharacteristically low this season - carrying an injury explains it.

Not a Billings fan at all, but agree with the comments that I'd prefer him in the team than Motlop.

He's been in a bog average Saints team for the majority of his career as well, so would be interesting to see him in a more complete team like PA.
