No one is leaving Collingwood to come to Port based on its crowd, let’s be real here.
Their Melbourne crowds have been at an all
time low when open this year and going backwards in the last few years.
The theme of my post is we need to sell Port Adelaide as an attractive club to be.

They are into Ladhams. Offer up Ladhams in a straight swap and see what they say. Id even be okay with us throwing a pick in. Dawson is a gun.
If we pulled it off Dawson would go from a superstar to the biggest spud this side of Ireland with the local scribes
I’d pay him what he wants just for the lols

This is where we sell what PA has.
New start for a 25-26yo who is ready to mature, out of Victoria into a team with sell out crowds at Adelaide Oval every second week with a supporter group that will fall in love with him.
Great player retention and a player group that seems very inclusive.
Guarantee of as much midfield time as he wants.
Find him a mentor like Chad Cornes and he may be the missing link
"Missing link" is the new "missing piece of the puzzle"

Dustan Cheap on 1 year contract No offield drama is Big difference. Is solid depth
If we've been restructuring deals to maintain the salary cap floor to then pay for depth we are doing list management wrong.

we are two or three years away from challenging the best sides, assuming we build our squad for that goal

all I'm seeing is deck shuffling

We can't just keep getting rid of players who have behaviour issues don't want a team of choir boys.
It's a fine line, how many dickheads does a club tolerate? Richmond had more than a few but it didn't stop them from winning flags.

What matters is whether it limits us from getting the job done on the field. SPP being a medical sub in a big final at this stage of his career says it all.

Hawthorn is interesting.

Hopefully we are looking for a Mitchell/Wingard in return not an Obrien.

O'Brien is a free agent and Hawks haven't offered him a contract.

Explain to me how GC have done well out off this?

If the reports are correct then their whole senior list is contracted so they don't have the list spots available to use those draft picks anyway. Macpherson leaving will open up their pick 3. So the option is either pass on draft night and those picks become worthless, or trade them for the same picks next year where they hold value.

I think we are starting to see something a bit concerning. Not only do some Vic kids want to go home when they get drafted interstate. Gold Coast and GWS nearly all want to go home to good ol Melbourne but they seem to retain the non-Vics. Gold Coast and GWS seem to be giving Melbourne based teams sweetheart deals as well. Now we are starting to see SA players like Hewett, Young and O'Brien not looking at coming home when they change club. Everything is so Melbourne centric I wonder whether we'll be able to field a team that can match the Melbourne sides ability to cherry pick the best talent.
We’ll that was the ideal system before the AFL existed and what they thrived on. We’re we expecting anything different?

Gold Coast turning picks they won’t use this year into picks they won’t use next year. Meh.

Again, slightly ridiculous that they were given a priority pick only to trade away their natural pick 4 spots later for future draft picks.

I’d be happy with any of these
Powell pepper for brander
Ladhams and 16 for omeara and 21
Enquire on gc and try and beat NM to the punch and try and get fiorini on the cheap as a salary dump for them
Pick up James cousins and depth for the midfield. I think he showed good signs is young and I think would be happy on a base wage to continue his AFL career
Or take a punt on Greg Clark from the wafl got best on in the gf and hope he turns into a kelly type situation for us
