Whens the last time that actually happened? A deal always gets done.
Actually last year with Treloar. He had already met with the Saints, had chosen them as his preference, but Collingwood kept stuffing around wanting a better deal, Saints then locked in Crouch, and would only be interested in Treloar if it matched their terms, and He was finally "given" to the Dogs two minutes a̶f̶t̶e̶r̶ before the final deadline.

The Crows feel they are in the box seat and can play hardball, trying to get Dawson on the cheap. They are just plain stupid! No decent players ever want to go there, and when they do they play this trick. What goes around, comes around.

What message does this send to Dawson? "We really dont think you are worth much, but we will take you anyway."

I really hope the deal falls through and North pick him up in the PSD for free.

Ladhams still has very high potential. Finlayson isn’t worth pick 40. You’d use a late third rounder or fourth rounder on him.
Finlayson is a 25 year old key forward who averages nearly two goals a game, in what world is he not worth pick 40?

Always be creating content (with bullshit polls)

I clicked on that just so I could click Port Adelaide say No.

Seriously, apparently Patrick Lipinski who can't get a game at the Dogs and who is hardly known outside his immediate family is worth pick 25, but Peter Ladhams, who is a regular at Port and would lead the Sydney rucks for the next 8 years, is worth a pick in the 30s. **** off.

So GC want a salary dump? Lukosius for a couple of future high picks ought to do the trick. I can’t imagine he is on less than McPherson.

It does seem a desperate move by GC, seeing the player doesn’t want to leave. I would have thought players who don’t want to leave GC would be paraded along the beaches and not traded against their consent. There’s a smell of blood in the water here and if Lukosius requests a trade, that might be the all that the sharks (which should have been our nickname btw) need.

Luckily supporters or the largely ignorant media don't decide the value of a player. CD made it clear it would take a significant offer to dislodge Ladhams.

Port supporters are the only people who rate Ladhams higher than pick 30.
If we traded Ladhams for anything after 20 I'd be devastated.

Sam Jacobs went from Carlton to Adelaide for picks 34 & 67 back in the day, and it was a trade that Carlton would rue for years they massively undersold a young guy who'd done elite things and was coming into his prime.

Ladhams is in exactly the same boat. He's literally done ridiculously elite things for a ruck at ground level and he's still got a tonne of improvement left.

If we are considering anything after 20 then either:
- We've decided we wont play 2 rucks at all in 2022.
- It's a fire sale and we've given up on Ladhams and want him out
- Or our list management team have lost the friggin plot.

If Ladhams went into the draft he would probably go top 15.

Get prepared to be devastated

I really don't see Ladhams getting us much more than a pick in the 20's.

He isn't going to get us a straight swap first rounder unless we work something else into the deal like we did with Howard.

He would have similar value to what Howard had when we traded him out and although we got an additional first rounder for him, we had to throw in our pick 10 and Ryder in order to get 12 and 18 back.

This is definitely going down the same path as Howard, where we played the "it will take a significant offer" line only to get rid of him for what most on here at the time thought was unders. We do have a habit of overrating our own players.

It worked out well in the end with Howard because Mckenzie stepped up in 2020 and performed better than what Howard ever did and a year later we go an All Australian in Allir for a less than what we received for Howard.
