Martin: I see as similarities with someone like Houlihan, he may never consistently get a lot of the ball but when he does, good things will happen.
He's more than capable of having an impact in any third of the ground.

Setters: I see as poor man's Bont (no shame there), I think his best work is done in transitioning to the outside/pushing forward and also capable of providing an outlet around the ground.

Agree and I’ve used the Mundy comparison before as I think our boy’s traits align very well with Mundy’s. Setters was our most improved by a country mile last year vs his previous years output and with a renewed confidence in both his body and his ability, he can go to another level again. I also think living with Walsh is a really good thing for him as Walshy will push really push him on the track and how he prepares.
Walsh, the world’s youngest mentor for adults. Agree wholeheartedly.

This hype around TDK is great but isn't helping me as a fantasy keeper owner. I reckon he's still a year away from really popping influence and statistic wise. Also the Pitto factor could haunt him in 2021.

Not sure whether his ceiling is Grundy and Gawn or more Sauce Jacobs.

Too early to know his ceiling....truth is he is still finding his way as a youth in a massive frame ....doubt he plays more than ten games.
I would say though in 3 years it will be the TDK Walsh show in full swing.

Athleticism probably separates from a plodder like Sauce, especially in his latter years. You are probably right in the year away assessment and becoming more Grundy/Gawn. Pitto will get his runs too.

Grundy and Gawn, he’ll be a multiple AA (x4) ruckman...
something i missed bookmarking back when i declared him a future gun ruckman early days...

If his body holds up, the way he harasses, chases and marks in general play, see a bit of Nic nat in the young pup. Kid will be golden.

That’s one of traits in him that stood out early days, his work rate and physicality especially without the ball he’s chasing and tackling is incredible for a ruckman...

Yeah for some reason his marking was off in most of his games maybe the humid, slippery and at times wet conditions might have not helped, normally his got a great pair of vice like hands, I’ve seen him sit in some heads in the reserves games he can cause some damage down forward when resting...

As exciting a prospect as TDK is, the benefits to his career long term of throwing his weight around in some serious VFL can't be understated. But maybe he is just too good for that already. Going to be fun finding out.
He’s still got a lot of physical development to come, club will certainly monitor him closely throughout the year and probably be rested for a few games to lighten the workload on him...
With Charlie looking likely he’ll be out for a while yet personally I’m thinking that he will be splitting his time between ruck and forward, depending on team balance, availability and certain opposition we might see the two ruckman in TDK and Pittonett for a number of games...
We need to be careful of not banging up and burning out the young lad, I think he’ll relish the challenge of first ruck...

Your post has merit, my heart wants to go Full hog, TDK, with Levi chop out giving another spot for a midfielder to improve our flexibility. Would be shattered if TDK got a back stress injury (say like a marchy or Willo) so you may be on the money with Pitto and TDK combo.

Problem is Pitto needs to do more than just be a ruck, needs to work on a few more strings to his bow, or we are just carrying a player that offers no versatility.

Good points Fitzroy ....the bit I think less likely is that the Charlie situation would have any bearing on the TDK situation.
Like Metalcrusher suggests it's the period when young talls get those back issues.
I always think of it this way with rucks. You don't build a long career by pushing them in games to get fit and fully developed. You get them fit and fully developed then push them in games.
