I didnt notice much so I rewound fox. Dont want to be a wet blanket but Mackie looked non-plussed, nothing in it. People see what they want to see I guess.

Is Mitch Szybowski going to last until the rookie draft? Wouldn't be a bad pick

So what picks do we have next year at this point ?

our 1st
2nd tied to Dogs ?
3rd tied to Lions ?

Hopefully this draft works out for us, important draft given we took the 5 selections.

I really like this draft. 8/10 for me.

MacKenzie at 7 was a safe and great choice. Inside/outside mid with speed who is damaging when delivering the ball inside 50. Compliments the group we are building well.

I LOVE Weddle despite the price we paid. He beat talls and smalls with his unique combination of pace and strength. We seem to have earmarked him as a midfielder roaming around the ground and I love that. If we work on his kicking like CMac he’ll be a weapon.

Hustwaite at 37 is a steal. He compliments MacKenzie perfectly as an inside contested ball winner. His pace is average but his agility is fine and most important his disposal is great. Much quicker decision maker and disposer than Howe (with whom he has drawn some comparisons). At AFL level his role will be feeding it out to our line breakers.

O’Sullivan is the most speculative. Seen limited vision so perhaps not the most qualified to comment. Wish him the best but think there were better options available.

MacDonald at 51 I love. This dude is the road runner, incredible set of wheels. When given time his disposal is fine but he runs at full pace so often he can cook it. Very exciting player even if he plays a position we’re well equipped (could be developed as a wing). Honestly rated him higher than Vickery.

2008:16 clubs took 83 selection in national draft average 5.2
2022: 18 clubs 59 selections average 3.3

It may be taken up by rookies, or maybe player stay on lists longer.

Either way, not sure the ‘dilution of talent’ with extra teams stands up

Huh Whats your link between # of kids selected and # teams in comp? They are separate things?

Honestly far too much whinging on the decisions, reckon it was a great draft, we took risks got targets we wanted and the midfield is finally looking like it has stability. I couldn’t be happier with the list position and getting rid of Tom and jager.

We have an exciting list and it just went up even more with the trades and draftees combined. It is very underrated how exciting our list is.

We don't have the future 4th, we traded that to get 51 for Bailey MacDonald.

We have our 1st, Dogs 2nd and 3rd.
We either have our future fourth or Brisbanes future 4th. We had two, and traded one for Bailey MacDonald. Not that it matters, as it will be eaten up by McCabe

Smaller list sizes

Agree , very good drafting we just need them to turn out now 🙂

I'm most excited by Weddle . Looks a potential game breaker to me . Could be heart in mouth stuff as he adjusts to AFL early doors!
