Lynch never kicked 8 goals against West Coast lol

Interesting that you mentioned kicking goals against minnows.

The three worst teams in the league West coast, Nth, GWS

West Coast, Richmond played against them twice and he played once

GWS, Lynch was injured in that game and did not play

Nth, Lynch was injured and did not play that game either.

The mental gymnastics that need to happen for Lynch not to get his AA jumper in 2022, is funny to watch

He is in.
Sorry he kicked 7, not 8

Now I don't really give a **** who he kicked them against, it was in response to the idiot Richmond bloke who keeps jacking this thread up

Really just Heeney and Mills a chance and I still won't be shocked with zero Swans in the team. Maybe Heeney for HF or bench has a mid/forward type. However I've always been supportive of the bench simply being the next best 4 players.

If the next best 4 players includes a KPF then I don't see an issue with the Curnow, Cameron, Hawkins and Lynch in the team.

Agree with you

Mills and Heeney are a chance, but no certainty.

Be interesting as its highly possible that 3rd and 4th will have 0 AA's between them this year.

Both you and I know that he would love a stat...regardless of how efficient it is.

Not for this forum but I would love to get a Cats fan opinion on how you would rank Dangerfield over Selwood. I can't remember which "expert comments" man said it but he said he rated Dangerfield as probably just a smidgeon behind Judd and Ablett but ahead of Selwood. I nearly fell of my chair. I would have Selwood every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Anyway, I was taking the piss with my original comment...sorta.
Peak - Dangerfield
Total output - Selwood

Lets have a look at the All Australian Selection Panel

IMHO the people that are qualified to make these decisions, are the recently retired, and /or people with recent coaching experience.

Kane Cornes, the bloke that reckons there are 200 players better than Buddy in the league right now
Andrew Dillon : WTF ?
Gill : You have to be joking
KB: Been out of the game for what 30 years?
Buckley: OK
Jude Bolton: retired 10 years ago, and is on Dancing with the stars
Glen Jacovich: The token Western Australian selector
Chris Johnson: retired 20 years ago
Cameron Ling : retired 10 years ago
Nick Riewoldt: fair enough
Brad Scott: fair enough
Kevin Sheehan: retired 100 years ago.

So we have 3 qualified members out of 12.

The rest are suits, dancers, media performers, and general people with NFI, you could go down to the local pub, and find fans, with a better insight, and a better understanding of todays game?

Why aren't more qualified people like Ross Lyon and Leon Cameron more involved ?
The AA selection panel is an fan paid junket boys club. I would love to see the alcohol bill for the lunches
A complete joke.

You haven’t got much of a memory then. 2018 they went with Riewoldt and Franklin at FF and CHF and Hawkins himself missed the cut. You could have made arguments for all three: Riewoldt most goals, Franklin most per game, Hawkins most goal assists etc etc but the numbers overall were much of a muchness. The Geelong player missed out.
They were close but Franklin only played 18 games that year.

You - YOU - calling out blokes who played the game for having NFI.

Wow.

I’ll tell you what highlights, from your post, why no one takes you seriously.

‘Glen Jakovich - token Western Australian.’

If you’re silly enough to think he’s on the panel for his state heritage and not for his status as the best CHB of his generation, that brings your mentality into very sharp focus

Is the Lizard not a sniff to get in as well? His best has been pretty good this year.

Goals and goal assists combined final:

1. Tom Hawkins 85 (59/26)
2. Charlie Curnow 76 (64/12)/Jeremy Cameron (59/17)
4. Tom Lynch 66 (60/6)/Peter Wright (53/13)/Bayley Fritsch (50/16)/Charlie Cameron (47/19)
8. Aaron Naughton 65 (51/14)
9. Lance Franklin 63 (50/13)
10. Max King 60 (52/8)/Taylor Walker (47/13)

Do you mind giving the averages instead of totals. Should close the gap a bit.

2018 - Franklin over Hawkins

Let me guess Hawkins had more goal/score assists but Buddy had a higher goal per game average right? I honestly haven’t looked but that’s probably the case. Maybe AA selectors don’t care about score assists compared to goals as much as you think.

Idk man 8 AAs compared to 6 and more Career Brownlow votes say otherwise. As a pure player its an easy choice to pick Danger.

In terms of Brownlow votes it’s worth remembering that Selwood spent his first four seasons alongside the all time record holder for votes, and his first 8-9 years alongside another Brownlow winner, and then got joined by another Brownlow winner, and also had Kelly, Corey, Guthrie, and at times Johnson and Chapman in the midfield alongside him. Winning votes hasn’t been as straightforward for him as it has been for Dangerfield I don’t think.

Yeah if Lynch was going to push anyone out it would be Curnow imo, play a similar style but Lynch more dangerous with his contested marking and goal ave

But at the end of the day Curnow’s ability to get on the park every week shouldn’t be held against him and fairly won the Colman and due to that I think he deserves his position in the side

Lynch probably misses out but that’s footy

Yep that is the way I've seen it too. Think those 3 are slightly ahead. Not by much but slight lean.

Pick Jezza on a flank. Plays like a flanker anyway. Lynch, Hawkins and Curnow all make it. 1 of Hawkins/Lynch on the bench.

Problem solved.

4 keys seems overkill, and Cameron will be picked in a pocket anyway- Hawkins/Curnow the two keys.

To me Cameron plays like a big flanker. No problem picking him on the field with 2 other key forwards. 1 on the bench because it's bloody close between the other 3.

J.Cameron Lynch Bolton
Stengle Curnow C.Cameron

Hawkins on the bench.
