Lynch should make it

But he won't - I can't recall a time where a line-ball AA decision that involves a Geelong player, hasn't gone the way of the Geelong player

You haven’t got much of a memory then. 2018 they went with Riewoldt and Franklin at FF and CHF and Hawkins himself missed the cut. You could have made arguments for all three: Riewoldt most goals, Franklin most per game, Hawkins most goal assists etc etc but the numbers overall were much of a muchness. The Geelong player missed out.

less goals, less avg goals per game, less contested marks

ruck contests & goal assists are ultimately periphery to the above - really the # 1 indicators for key forward dominance

What makes setting up goals directly peripheral in comparison to taking contested marks?

Hell Max King is a better contested mark at the moment than Hawkins - it’s not going to get him in the side because it never leads to a) other people kicking goals or b) King kicking goals. What

I’m crazy to Fyfe overhead on the ground in an out of a contest I’d take over both his greatest strength was his greatest weakness dusty same draft has played a few seasons more of games most of fyfes injuries are attack on the ball.
I enjoy watching danger and rate him highly but feel if he a personality like pyke or mick Martin he wouldn’t have as many personal accolades.

Yeah Fyfe is unreal too. Injuries killed him though otherwise it wouldn’t be debatable. Could’ve easily won 3+ Brownlows.

Wojcinski is just a troll don’t waste your breath with him.

TBH I think 2018 reflects sensible selections ... Coleman medalist, and most potent goal scorer

In Richmonds B2B years (19/20) we had 3 players receive AA honours, with less representation than Geelong. Always felt like Richmond's AA representation was penalised by the teams lower possession game plan that looked worse on the stats sheet

Having your AA calibre players miss games is why you were disproportionately represented, though in neither season were Richmond truly dominant during the home and away.

You had eight in the squad and four in the side in 2018 where you were clearly the best side.

We were equal with the minor premiers in 2019 only 3rd with %. Also the highest ranked vic team in 2020 at 3rd. 3 AA total for those two years is cooked, people didn’t want Dusty in 2020 either.

Another high class game from Sinclair.

Had the hard tag from Ryan Clark (for the 2nd time this year) and had:

27 disposals (equal-3rd most on ground)
13 contested (equal-4th most)
10 intercepts (2nd-most)
8 score involvements (equal-4th most)
5 tackles
19 pressure acts (equal-6th most)
499m gained (2nd-most)
2 goal assists (equal game-high)

Cracking season. Super well-rounded game.

Yep, my first choice half back flanker - consistently impactful, attracting tags and most coaches votes of the flankers. Another great game today.

Sicily was also already a lock but just underlined it again today as well.

Hawthorn were smashed in the middle, losing the clearances 49-22 and the inside 50's 71-39 yet were in the game until late in the last thanks to some very impressive defensive efforts. Sicily played on a combination of players, including Bruce (who had 5 possessions and no score) and Naughton (who kicked 3 but only 1 on Sic).

Meanwhile, Sicily, as a key defender, had:

33 disposals (#1 on the ground)
28 kicks (#1 on the ground)
748 m gained (#1 on the ground)
17 marks (#1 on the ground)
9 intercepts (#1 on the ground)
9 rebound 50's (#1 on the ground)
134 SC (#1 on the ground)

Curnows last month has been a disaster

If his name was jack Riewoldt no way he makes the team

Lynch at FF with Hawkins and Cameron the two HFs would be the ultimate. Curnow is lucky lynch got injured 3.3 goals a game compared to 2.9 goals a game is massive.

My crack at final team:

Taylor - May - Barass (Squad: P.McCartin, Maynard)
Sicily - Naicos - Stewart (Sinclair, Docherty, Rioli, Saad)

Petracca - Miller - Andy Brayshaw (Walsh, Daicos, McCluggage, Gus.Brayshaw)
Gawn - Oliver - Neale (Mills, Laird, Prestia, Parker, Witts, Darcy)

Bolton - J.Cameron - Heeney (Stengle, Fritsch)
C.Cameron - Curnow - Hawkins

INT: Blicavs - Lynch - Cripps - Rozee

Stengle and Mills most unlucky to miss team. Wpuldn't object to Stengle over C.Cameron/Heeney.

Seems a few teams have Bont, will be interesting to see if he makes it. Has had an underrated season, although a fair way off his 2019 or 2021 season. Not sure he makes the field, but 50/50 for a bench spot.
