I dont get the popular argument that you need specialist wingers on the team. Plenty of teams dont even play specialist wingers and just use the spot to rotate midielders. If only selecting pure wingers you would just end up with langdon and amon every year as the competition pool of elite players that play there all the time is so small. Even McLuggage is rotating more onball this year.
Hate to see a Fyfe or Cripps type named there but if it is an outside leaning mid like a Walsh or Merrett (who do rotate on the wing) then no problem.
He's equal first in the Coleman and is averaging something ridic like 4 contested marks a game.

Zorko HBF this year stiffed last season as a HFF/wing
Ridiculous comment. Faded in the 2nd half but clearly in the top 5 players on the ground. I would have gone.

From a Hawthorn perspective I had Weitering and Silvagni ahead of Cripps. Cripps was massive in the first half but faded in the second. If it was the Brownlow those two wouldn't get a look in though.

Maybe I need to watch the replay. Watching it live at the ground I didn't rate him that high, very good, but not a contender for best on. Messed up some important opportunities going forward in the second half

As did I. That being said I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he got the votes. He's just such a big unit even his off games I'd imagine would catch the eyes of the umps.
Pretty good effort regardless considering he was tagged the whole 2nd half, might play into the votes as the umps were quite vocal about Omeara scrapping and holding him at stoppages.
