I really going cold on Dunkley due to injury history and role.

Am I crazy for wanting English instead? Really want ruck DPP security.
Plays nearly every game, still on an upward curve. 95+ probable?

Pocket extra $$$
Not crazy just wouldn’t be starting English
I’d wait to bring in Marshall in round 6 if I want a ruck/fwd dpp
Think it’s a certainty

Dunkley is an easy set and forget pick to start but he’s the one I’ll be culling if no cheap rookies get named

Not so crazy, English seems to doing more ruck-work preseason from the limited knowledge I have acquired on him. If he is the prime mover in the middle through the preseason games, 481K could balloon quite rapidly. If it wasn't Beveridge, I'd have him already named. As it is, wait and see, for me.

I'm not so sure Roma gets DPP at all, that's my worry.
Dunks is great when he plays and plays in the middle but he misses a lot of games and his role is never a given

Then look at his next 6 games, uppercut yourself and trade out of F1.
Only played 11 regular season games too. Eeeeeekk.

Sounds like your trying to talk yourself out of picking Dunks. No one is holding a gun to your head mate pick another F1 and spend the cash elsewhere :thumbsu:

Never said it was crazy?
I’d be waiting on Roma over English as I think he’ll be a better dpp
Of course there’s risk in that as he may not get dpp
But if it was up to me I’d wait and see how English goes early days and start Dunkley as most of us are. English may average 100 and surprise like in the 2020 year but also you could wait for Roma who Could go 110+ Imo

Could go both but in that case I’d like the Dunkley Marshall option
English a huge watch in pre season I’ve got him in my draft team as I like the upside

Yeah good point he may not get that dpp.
I just think it’s an easy wait and see. If round 6 Marshall gets dpp he can be your first trade in target, if at that stage Marshall doesn’t get dpp and English is averaging 100+ then he can be that trade in target.

Unless you’re starting English at r2 which is a different tactic all together. But English forward I would wait a few rounds. If he flops early you have avoided that and if he pops then he won’t be that far out of reach

My rule of thumb when tossing up between players, especially forwards is to always go the one from the better team and not the one who's team gets flogged.

Take Tarryn Thomas for example. Norf is going to lose more games than I've had hot dinners, and Thomas isn't getting any points when his team is getting pumped by 10 goals and can't even get their hands on the footy.

Dopey spud English on the other hand will get plenty of opportunities for points with an elite team. Likewise Jackson.

The old "had an impact on the game" bonus that CD gives out, generally favours the winning team rather than the one losing.

I remember owning Scott Thompson back in the day, he was a total ball magnet yet just got snubbed by CD because his team would always lose the game. Used to do my ****ing head in.

To counter this argument you could ask how many games the Suns won last year and how well did Touk score?

Inside mid's are different though, see Cripps at Carlton before he broke down.
It depends on the argument. If the argument is "you won't score as well in a losing team" then it's not true. I'd suggest if Tarryn Thomas was going to spend 70% mid time then his SC score won't be too badly impacted by North losing. Getting pumped is a different story, but North were competitive last season

I would suggest seagulls are different also.
Pretty much every year we get good defender options from shit clubs.
Hall last year.
Doch and Simpson while Carlton were shit.

We could potentially have Billings in our SC Fwd lines again by Rd7! :D

SC aside, he's an elite inside 50 kick. I can see why they'd want him to have the ball in the front half.
Has he ever been SC relevant? I wouldn't have thought so

No, Billings always disappears once the pressure raises .....he'll star if the Saints are caning it

Billdick was very much SC relevant in 2017 & 2018 when he was a SC Forward. Was very good in '17 averaging 93 and a number of coaches started him the following year expecting an improvement on that, he started '18 well enough with a 133 then proceeded to dump a huge pile of :poo: on his owners for the next 13 rounds before finally finding some form only after everyone had already traded his worthless arse out of their teams.

Hasn't been SC relevant the last 3 years though, as he's been Mid only.

Does this move back to the forward line mean more mid time for Gresham?
