IDK. Saints aren't exactly flush for small forwards..

King_Steele thoughts?
Ratten is going to lead St Kilda back to the finals for the second time in the space of three years, he needs another A-grade talent to join captain Jack Steele. There aren’t too many capable of entering the elite bracket at RSEA Park, but Gresham is certainly one of them.

"He's going pretty well and the Achilles is going well. He's in the best shape in his time at the footy club, which is great," Ratten told AFL.com.au at RSEA Park.

"Sometimes with players, when you take away the game their hunger and desire grows. I think that's really happened with Jade. The way he's come back his running has improved; there's elements of his professionalism that's just risen to a new level, which is great.

"Sometimes you’ve got to take the game away to understand what you really want
He's so dynamic and he's one of those players whether he's had 25 touches or 30 touches, he might only need 12 or 15 to change a game. That's something that's important. He is a game changer who can change momentum for us. To get him out and playing will be important."

A bit of a contradictory article about Gresham .....saying he's the fittest he's ever been ....and that the Saints need another A Grader in with Steele

At the end of the article, Ratten says Gresham likely to play forwd .....but his statements don't match ....I'll continue to watch

From the reports mentioned on here it sounds like he's not training 100% yet. Can't see how he'll play a lot of midfield if that is the case. Easy pass for me.

I'd suggest clubs don't train a player on hard summer grounds, coming off an Achilles ....as you do other players

He'd be cross-training more .....I'm not concerned

Does this move back to the forward line mean more mid time for Gresham?
Zero impact. Billings only played wing.

With Butler, Higgins, Billings up forward, Gresh should rotate through there but wont need to play there full time.

And worth noting, he hasn't played as a full time small forward since half way through the 2018 season. So he should be back to splitting his time between mid and fwd but has a better overall fitness base than he use to.

Didn't I hear Higgins was a possibility to get some Midfield minutes this season ??

The thing about JDG is, in between his on-field ability to collect a bizarre injury and his off-field penchant for concoction of false premises for further drunken injury antics, games missed has to a be concern; see below. I won't bore you all with the litany of various injuries sustained.

This is something he has in common with pretty much every forward premo this year.
He is pretty cheap for what I think he could produce with the continuity of 22 games.
I mean most peeps in here would say Dunkley is the best forward option.
He has played 22 games over the last 2 years.

Of the top 20 odd priced forwards, there's 3 that stand out as most durable with very relevant scoring power, but everyone seems to be ignoring them, hoping for the next gen to take over, think that might be a bit of wishful thinking tbh.

Hawkins would be one I'm guessing.
Who are the other 2 you are referring to mate?
